We stayed at Sivatel Bangkok from March 11-15, 2013.

The Good :

# Prior to room being available we were offered the use of showers and provided with access to the hotel wifi service.

# The room was great, massive in size and very clean.

# Bathroom massive with huge shower ( the water saver shower head was a bit of a shame as the pressure was not the best ) separate spa bath.

# Room was kitted out with Apple TV and iPhone dock and two LCD TVs.

# Proximity to Ploen Chit sky train was very good only two minute walk and easy access.

# Breakfast selection was ok. Not a great deal of choice but good quality.

# Room service & house keeping speed of response was excellent.

# It was my birthday the day we arrived we were presented with a birthday cake which was a very nice gesture.

The Bad : these are only minor points.

# Arriving early morning approximately 7:00 AM we checked in but were advised our room would not be ready until 10AM, no big deal but a bit disappointing as I'd been in email contact with the hotel prior.

# Complimentary water was a bit scarce. Only 2 x 500 ml as part of standard stocking of room. We had to order several more bottles.

# Sivatel seems difficult for many taxi and tuk tuk drivers to find. We found the best way to assist them was to tell them it is near the British Embassy (right opposite in fact) or it was near BTS Ploen Chit station.

# We found pool side service to be a bit hit and miss. When we got served it was good but sometimes locating someone to serve you was the challenge.

# Biggest gripe is the lack of shade around the pool , great if you want to laze in the sun and fry but if your after respite it is lacking

The Ugly : no uglies here apart from some very rude tourists who treated staff appallingly.

The Wrap : Good value. Great access to sky train. We will be back.

We stayed for 3 nights at Sivatel, the room was very nice, large, modern, very clean and with two tv with Apple tv included. The roof top swimming pool is beautiful and quite. Breakfast has many different choices and is of very good quality. Staff is polite and helpful. The hotel is well connected with the Sky Train.

Room Tip: deluxe rooms are expensive and there no big difference with the standard rooms.

I've been visiting Bangkok for several years now and on each occasion have been fortunate enough to stay in most if the top five star hotels this amazing city has to offer. It was by pure incidence that I stumbled upon this magnificent gem two years ago.
And to be honest it was only because we had a problem with our booking at 'Labua at State Towers' and I found myself forced to find a suitable alternative within 24hours during their peak season. Not easy for a fussy traveller!
Anyway a bit of highly skilled iPad surfing, and I found it, The Sivatel hotel.
The property had literally just opened a few months prior, so there were few reviews to help guide my decision, but nevertheless my inherent ability to sniff out quality and luxury launched me into the unknown.

This was one of the BEST gut instinct choices I've ever made whilst looking for accommodation abroad.
Upon arrival the hotel did not boast a grand entrance so it's somewhat understated. But once you've got past the strange entrance foyer layout your true Sivatel experience begins. And what a pleasant surprise it is.

The room we booked was magnificent. It was absolutely huge with a walk in closet, massive bathroom which included a double vanity, corner bath and shower big enough for an intimate party. You even have a high rise view of the city from your throne. The lounge area was very spacious with an eating space for two and a perfect size work desk. This is divided by a glass wall looking into your king size bedroom. The entire suite has floor to ceiling glass windows with a magnificent view of the city and all the internal glass walls work on electric block out blinds for added privacy when required. So the room in itself is a good enough reason to look at this wonderful hotel.

When you decide to leave your lavishly sized sanctuary, a beautiful open plan infinity pool/restaurant/bar awaits you on the 8th floor. This high rise "floating rim flow pool" architecture has been very cleverly designed and makes for a wonderful getaway from the hassle and bustle of the Bangkok streets. A perfect escape from a hard days shopping.

Then of course no hotel gets a full 5 star rating without outstanding service (regardless how fabulous the facility might be).
Sivatel has some of the best, friendliest and welcoming staff you gonna get. Such a pleasure to be surrounded by happy people always prepared to meet any of your demands no matter how challenging.
This is truly the mark of a 5 star experience.

The hotel is also in a prime location with one drawback - it's located on a one way road. So if you taking taxi or tuk-tuk by means of transport the trip can be a bit of a roundabout route to get back to the hotel. So don't think the guys are trying to deceive you, it's just a bit of a journey because of this simple logistic obstacle.
However the hotel is a 2 min walk from the sky train which makes up for this small inconvenience.

So in summary, the hotel has outstanding accommodation, amazing facilities, a wonderful spa & gym and fantastic staff whom go out of their way to make your stay enjoyable and rememberable.

I've been twice and have actually signed up a contract to send any business or clients to the Sivatel on our account.
Please check it out. It's really a gem.

Well done guys!

+ Nice hotel, very polite and helpful staff. Close to many shopping centres. Very nice room with internet. Extensive breakfast and nice pool.

- Far away from main temples. The hotel is placed in uninteresting surroundings in business area.

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights in a REGENT SUITE and it was a great choice to stay in bangkok, staff were very nice, helpful and friendly, rooms are big and the walk-in closet is nice. Both rooms are big and the view was excellent. Superb comfortable beds. The pool on the 8th floor is so relaxing and for the two time we went there, there were only four of us using the pool, really enjoy those relaxing moments.
Breakfast was good even there are not many choices.
Location is very near from the Phloen Chit BTS station, just a 3-5 mins walk.
Overall this hotel was the best we had stayed in Bangkok.

It´s more of a business hotel. The lobby was on the 17th floor. You felt captured in a big building. Nice very big rooms in the middle of Bangkok, big strret outside.
We stayed for 1 hour and then left becuase it wasn´t cozy at all. More for business and people with no kids.
Dark hotel with dark curtains..

Room Tip: We got two connecting rooms, very big.
