Excellent service and facilities, our kids liked game / play room with free internet. We could find free Wi Fi everywere in the hotel which was excellent service. Location is also great for those who are looking for Halal food - you can find middle eastern, sub continent foods at walking distance. Taxis are everavailable outside the hotel for whole day rent or a single trip.

Pool location - roof top and at edge of the roof without any rail - was a bit concern for our kids owning to which they never used it.

Room Tip: Rooms towards Soi Nana are a bit noisy.

If you are looking for a serviced apartment in Bangkok (or just a great hotel with a full kitchen), I really recommend Shama on Sukhumvit Soi 2. First, the place is quite new, so all of the fittings, furniture, television, appliances, bathrooms are new and modern. Second, the bathrooms are fantastic - lovely showers, lots of space, clean, modern, tiles, granite, nice. Third, the kitchen is highly functional - you can really cook here, a full meal if you want to. Villa Markets is right across the street, making cooking an easy pleasure. Fourth - great beds with fantastic comfortable duvets, pillows and mattresses. Also - high ceilings, wifi, balconies, good pool, yoga room, good gym.. And very nice service. Shama staff were accommodating, friendly and fast. I forgot my relatively expensive camera tripod when I checked out - called the next day and they had it, and had an easy system to retrieve it.
Shama is an easy walk to the BTS, and to really good restaurants nearby. (The lebanese in the basement of Ploenchit centre next door is excellent). Shopping at Bangkok's famous malls is two BTS stops, or about 8 minutes away.
Only downsides - Soi 4 on one side of Shama will not be to everyone's taste with its seedy beer bars. You can avoid it though by exiting only on Soi 2. The wireless internet is good, but had glitches from time to time.
The price is absolutely right - we had two big bedrooms, two bathrooms, great kitchen and large living/dining space for under 100$ per night, including breakfast.

Stayed there with a friend this past winter. Highly recommend this hotel:
Location: perfectly located in the midst of nice restaurants, shopping, going-outs, and street food, sightseeing spots. Less than 5 mins walk to SkyTrain (BTS) station, and very easy connection to the new airport express line.
Service: you might think it's a service apt, but they offer 5-star services. Staff is friendly and helpful. Rooms are equipped with full kitchenwares, washer/dryer, and amazing amenities. I love their body cream. I actually accidentally mentioned to the GM when I was having breakfast in the lobby area, and he sent me a small bottle of body cream before I left the hotel. Great personal touch!
Price: very reasonable price for the two-bedroom apt we stayed at. Cheaper than most cities I visited for the last 10 years.
Overall, just a wonderful facility, great place for families, couples, friends, or even single travelers.

It took us a while to find the hotel as it was tucked away down a side street off the main road but when we found it we were very impressed! We had two couples staying in a 2 bedroom apartment. It was very spacious and had a washing machine/dryer and full kitchen with oven, microwave, kettle and cooking utensils. We also had a balcony as well overlooking the busy side street on the other side. Only one bedroom had a tv, iron and board, hairdryer and an ensuite. The other bedroom had a separate external bathroom which was a little inconvenient. At night it can be a bit noisy through the window as there are bars etc down one of the sidestreet, but if you enjoy the nightlife its a very short walk from the side entrance of the hotel to the nearby entertainment. The breakfast included did not have a large variety and was the same everyday. When trying to book a cab to the airport different staff quoted different prices all three times that we asked. But all in all this was one of the best hotels that i stayed at in asia, it is meant to be a serviced apartment but we had our room cleaned every day.

Do yourself a favour and stay at Shama in Bangkok. The location is perfect and the apartments are amazing. It had everything we need including a great little breakfast to start the day. Upon checking in, we were very pleased to find out that our room had been upgraded to one of the penthouse suites (booked slightly smaller 3 bedroom version) and it was amazing. Huge living space with incredible 360 views of Bangkok. The staff went out of their way to assist us with any questions/food delivery etc. The 3 bedroom suites are well worth the money if you are travelling with more than 4 people. There was 5 of us in our party and we had an incredible stay at Shama. The infinity pool on the roof was pretty cool too. Directly across the road is a mall where you can buy all kinds of food (a lot of imported things too) at the grocery store to stock your room for the stay. The area surrounding Shama is great for pubs/fastfood too. The building itself is a bit tucked away, but the easiest way to find it is to have your cabbie take you to the JW Marriott - Shama is basically beside it. All in all, a wonderful stay - thanks Shama, we will be back!

shama is really special to us . This is where we stayed when we went to bangkok last time- to have our first child. We loved the newly opened serviced apartment the moment we walked inside the lobby. From the very begining one thing made shama so special was their personalized service. People their were extremely helpful, friendly and warm. From selecting the right apartment to providing us the right utensils, they took care of everything. We stayed their for two months with our family with a lot my family coming and going , shama made each and everyone happy.

The location is superb. The property with two entrances, soi 2 and soi 4 and with two BTS station to choose from, shama was a lovely choice. the breakfast was simple but kept improving day by day. The pool is nice and quiet and the service was prompt and perfect. It was a brand new property when we stayed so it had some spots. But all the stuff listened to our demands and were quick to response.

And we were very thankful for the personalized service for our needs. They offered us the car to take us to the hospital for my labour and they sent us teir car when we were returning with our newborn. Our special thanks to the General Manager, Assistant Manager and all the people from the front desk who were ever obliging. We cannot also ignore the housekeeping stuff who were very attentive to our needs. whatever we wanted- they never turned us down.

At shama we stayed like kings, recieved a royal treatment and felt perfectly at home.

Thank you Shama- you will always remain special.
