“Fantastic Hotel at a Great Value!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 5, 2013

I highly recommend this hotel. It is beautifully and uniquely-decorated and is in a quiet part of town, although it is still close to the main roads for taxis and only a few minutes to air link (they also offer a free shuttle there!). The rooms are spotless and the beds are comfortable, and the water actually gets very hot in the shower (unlike many places I have stayed at in Thailand). What puts this place over the others, however, is the exceptional staff. They are friendly and responsive and are more than willing to assist with any requests or questions. They very quickly switched rooms for us when we asked for another room with two beds; they walked with us into the streets to get us taxis at a fair price; and they searched the room for an item we left behind, quickly found it and posted it to us. In all, this is a fantastic hotel at a great value!

I stayed here during the Christmas holidays and found it to be just what I needed. It is a quiet and relaxing place to stay. The staff was very helpful, always eager to please. It is about a 10 minute ride from the BTS but they provide a shuttle or the staff will get a taxi for you as quickly as possible. I found it easy to take a local bus home from the skytrain as the "71" runs frequently and leaves right at the bottom of the steps (usually 8 or 9 Baht). At night, I always used the Mosque as the landmark as it is lit up and I usually got off at the next stop after the mosque. I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Room Tip: I stayed in Room 509 so if you stay on that side of the hotel (away from the main street), it is ve...

It is such a joy to recommend this hotel to all of you. Sabai-Sabai is a gem of a place. I have travelled all over the world and this is one of the best hotel experiences I have ever had. I chose to stay here because the reviews spoke highly of the friendly staff. Everything written is absolutely true! The staff go out of their way to make you feel at home and to help you in any way possible. They are genuinely kind.

This hotel is like a lttle oasis-quiet, relaxed and a sanctuary in the midst of the very hectic city of Bangkok. The rooms are beautiful-spotlessly clean and full of character. The quality of this hotel far exceeds the price.

In terms of location, Sabai-Sabai is close to the BTS (Skytrain). This is a reliable and very easy transportation system to navigate. The hotel runs a shuttle service and will drop guests to the BTS between 9:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. Of course, it is also possible to walk.

The restaurant serves delicious food. If you are on a budget, there are numerous streetfood vendors in the area (3 minute walk).

I really can't say enough about this hotel. Fantastic!

I have stayed here twice and am coming again in a few weeks. Based on our repeat visits, it is about time that I put in a good word on Tripadvisor! This is absolutely the best place I have stayed in this category. No, it is not one of the large luxurious international chain hotels, so don't come expecting those kinds of amenities, nor those kinds of prices. Sabai-sabai@Sukhumvit does, however give a very different kind of luxury, and we will continue to stay here. Most important, it is VERY clean! Contrary to the other review, it is wonderful that they do not allow smoking! What a relief to be in this part of the world and not have to put up with the sickening stench of smoke anywhere in the hotel.

Each room has a different decor, and hence it's own character. Care has been taken to give each room a welcoming ambiance. Wifi is included, but can be spotty in the rooms; it works fine in the lobby and restaurant, though. They are well aware of this and are always trying to improve the internet connections. It wasn't too much of an issue for us, as we just worked around the temperamental server. We also appreciated that water is provided free of charge in the rooms. Contrary to the other large hotels that make a killing on selling bottled water, that costs just pennies.

The service is EXCELLENT! Lek, the owner speaks very good English, and is incredibly helpful with whatever requests you may have. The other staff, always do their best to help, and although the English is limited with some of the staff, there is always someone proficient in English available to help with translation. They have a very inexpensive laundry service that was good, reliable and worked with our needs (laundry being done at times other than their posted times)

The restaurant serves very nice Thai food, and always accommodated us with our Western palates, not being able to handle quite the spiciness of some of the Thai dishes. We prefer that fruit were offered at breakfast, but again, once the staff knew this, they made sure we had some every morning.

The spa is very nice, and the masseuse, who is also the cook, is a lovely lady with strong hands and able to get into those sore muscles. There is a small gym, which has good well maintained equipment, and to repeat, is kept very clean.

For our purposes, the location couldn't be better, as it is a short walk to the tennis club that we were visiting. Otherwise, the location is fine. Getting around Bangkok is never easy. Sabai-sabai is a short drive to the BTS station, which is only a few stops to all the big shopping malls. There is always someone on standby to drive you to the BTS station at no additional charge. Their "Tuk-Tuk" is a surprise, as in my books it is a well looked after and clean minivan, they use this mini-van to drive you to the BTS or for airport pick-up. Coming back from the BTS station is a short and inexpensive taxi ride. The hotel is easy to navigate from the BTS station, even for a total non-Thai speaker, such as myself. (Of course, you will be provided with a map & directions to give the taxi driver, anyway)

To conclude, I am a repeat guest, and will continue to stay here over the large international hotels. The hotel is clean, well maintained, and has the all amenities that we needed. (We don't need 5 restaurants in the hotel, for example.) We also truly appreciated that the staff are very flexible and tried to accommodate all of needs. I highly recommend Sabai-sabai to anyone visiting Bangkok.

Room Tip: I have looked at all the rooms and they all look very nice. We stayed in the corner suites which are...

Simply the best budget hotel in Bangkok, just a problem of location. They need to put more directions to help the guests finding the exact location & of course please allow smoking :) . Meanwhile the design, interior and the colors of the room makes the hotel Fabulous ! I stayed there for two nights and still remember the reception staff was really helpful even finding a taxi .. :)

Regards
Wong

Room Tip: Always choose the deluxe room because it fits all requirements ... and do not smoke in the room !

I stayed there for 3 nights and my stay was very good. The room is well-decored and stylish. The staff are very friendly and helpful, they made my stay like home. Tho a bit hard to find, there is shuttle bus taking us to BTS station. And it is close to airport railway station too. The breakfast is included, and good food is served. I am definitely staying here again if I go to Bangkok!

Tho a bit far from the city center, it is a very nice hotel itself. The room is spotless clean, and the towels are so comfy and soft! The decor of the room is nice, and makes us feeling home after our 3 nights stay there. They offer the best thai breakfast we have tried so far in Thailand, the rice in soup is so tasty! The staffs are extremely friendly and the owner is very helpful during our stay, it is also nice that they always offer free transport to the BTS station, however, because many taxi drivers in Bangkok only like to drive to popular (and touristy) areas in the city, so it somehow makes the transport back to the hotel difficult. If you are staying there, I would recommend you get off at Ekkamai station and get a taxi back, it would be much easier.

I would recommend this hotel if you are not looking for staying in center and touristy area.
