“Top Shelf, book soon before everyone finds out”
Reviewed February 9, 2012

I've stayed there twice now and loved it. As a person who travels a fair bit a have rarely seen such good dollar value. The place is brand new and very much a hip boutique hotel. The staff are supper helpful and friendly, the design is great, location awesome, tight and friendly security, and the rooms well appointed and very clean. One feature about the room safe I really liked was that it has a power outlet in the safe. Great for charging phones or small computers. I didn't eat or drink there as there are so many great restaurants and bars near by. The gym was small but state of the art. All new top shelf machines. The pool, beside the gym on the 10th floor was great for chilling after a work out. WIFI worked great. As well they have free computers to use on the second floor and free pool table on the first. As a single traveler I really like the pool table as a chance to meet other people.
I can not think of a negative about this place. Well, maybe everyone bows too much. :)
For the quality of this hotel you can not beat the price. Try it before they figure out they are under charging!

Stayed only 1 night @ Aloft Bangkok n thank god for that.

We were given keys to the room number 1205. As we opened the door .....................some one was sleeping in the room which was allocated to us. It was most embarrassing thing. Fortunately we got another room within after a few minutes waiting.

I always like to retain the card keys to the rooms i stay in any of the hotels as a memento. I got a rude shock when i was flatly denied the card key. I think probably against the hotel policy.

The only good thing was that the room was really good as far as ambience was concerned and we were allowed to retain the room till 2 pm

Room Tip: the location is good with lots of pubs n malls n eating places around.

Dear abhikul,

Thank you for taking the time to provide us with feedback from your recent stay. I was most concerned to read about your experience with being given the wrong room key. There is nothing more serious that can occur in any Hotel and we do have specific procedures in place to prevent this from happening.

I have investigated the matter personally and, unfortunately, human error has been found to be the cause.

Please accept my sincerest apologies for this most embarrassing incident. I do wish to assure you that guest safety and security is of the utmost importance and we have further refined our check-in procedures to ensure this type of incident does not happen again.

Kind regards,

Brendan Daly

LOCATION: a bit far from skytrain (NANA), but just tell taxi driver Bed Supper Club (just across the street). 7-11 nearby, and many good restaurants
STAFF: attentive and English fluent, though soft opening, needs a bit more experience
FACILITIES: nice, medium size pool on 10th floor (afterall its NOT a 5 star), with good sun, not shaded like in other hotels
ROOMS: slightly larger than IBIS hotels, but very hip decor, most interesting was everything can be controlled with the Samsung Galaxy phone they lend you... just don't lose it, i dunno how much they charge your if it happens.
OVERALL: main attraction is free entry to Bed Supper Club across the street, with superb DJ, and superb speakers... loved it

Room Tip: Dress smart for bed supper club

I love this hotel, the rooms are so comfortable and convenient. Bed is super comfortable, I always have trouble getting up! Staff is super friendly and there is a nice salt water pool. Atmosphere is trendy and the food is good as well. They also have a great cocktail bar.

I only paid about $80 a night for al that, its a steal!

Great location, great rooms and great value. We decided to try the new Aloft hotel when travelling to Bangkok this week. The location on Soi 11 is superb - lots of restaurants, bars and activity and only a short stroll (or free tuk tuk) to the BTS / sky train. I was not sure what to expect with Aloft as I was not so familiar with the brand but we were pleasantly surprised. The rooms are superb, possibly the best bed I have every slept in! The bathrooms are spacious with a huge shower and "Bliss" amenity products. Not sure of the size of the TV ... but it was a huge flatscreen. The hotel seemed to offer the latest technology along with i-macs for the use of hotel guests and free wireless internet. The pool had great views Bangkok and was adjoined gym. I really loved the concept of the hotel, chic and unique with great service. Even the minibar products were a little bit different. I really loved my 2 night stay and will certainly return. Besides having the best bed ever, Aloft offers fantastic value. I suggest you check it out before they hike up the prices.

What a refreshing establishment in the heart of Bangkok.

This is one of the latest hotels in Bangkok, stayed here for a night in December (when it had just opened) and another night late January.

Location is good, a fair walk down SOI 11 but still only 5-6 minutes from nana Skytrain or 1min from Asok. Lot's of great international restaurants is this Soi and one of the most trendy clubs in Bangkok is right opposite the hotel.

Price / Value ratio is very good, as in most hotels in this area of Bangkok. Great rooftop swimming pool! The ALOFT hotels target the "young and trendy" (as the receptionist mentioned) and this hotel does so very well in my opinion. Excellent design, nice bar, free wireless, snazy lifts, inroom iphone dock and another connections

Service is OK - Not excellent. Checking in took AGES. Some stupid system about charging my credit card the whole stay + a Deposit and then returning in upon check-out, was not a good first impression. I am a hotel owner myself, I know there are other ways to do this - checking in should not take more than 1 minute. This took about 10minutes, maybe more. I asked for a better price when I was there the first time as I only intended to stay 4hours - the receptionist couldn't give me a lower rate as she said she didn't know how to enter a manual rate in the system!!

All in all, a very modern-trendy hotel, reasonably sized rooms, good use of technology, and a fantastic ambience in the lobby, great first impression - A/C works like a charm, very refreshing! There's a free tuk tuk service to the skytrain (sometimes not worth the wait).
