“Littel Gem by the airport, clean, safe, great staff!!!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed July 12, 2014

We needed a hotel to stay one night in Bangkok near the airport so I picked the Lilac strictly by reviews on Trip Advisor and the Lilac website. When we got near the hotel we were a little leery about the narrow streets, cluttered sidewalks and some buildings in not the best shape however when you actually get in front of the Lilac it is very pleasant and the hotel lobby is absolutely beautiful. From the moment we arrived we were were treated with utmost respect, hotel staff spoke English, staff was very polite and check-in was quick. We were shown to our room and it was perfect. The bellman showed us a fridge with Cokes, beer, bottled water, and a basket of snacks that he pointed out were all free. The air conditioner worked great and the Wifi was good and the access and password were in the room so connecting was not a problem. We asked for a place to eat and the front desk recommended a little cafe across the street at the Phoenix hotel that was awesome. In the morning our wake-up call came on time, breakfast was provided with fresh toast, jams, cereal, fresh fruit, coffee, juice and a couple egg dishes and that was all in the room rate. We then took a 15 minute ride to the airport in a nice dedicated hotel shuttle and the driver was very helpful and pleasant. This is a little gem not far from the Bangkok airport that was a great find and if we have need to stay around the airport again, this is where we will head.

We stayed here on a layover between flights. We arrived later in the evening and left early in the morning so we didn't really get to explore much around the hotel. The airport pick up was great. They did a good job of communicating with us and the driver with our name on the paper was right where they said he would be. (look for the person in the lilac shirt) They have definitely taken their name to the full design. I liked it and it had a fun atmosphere. It is a small hotel in a small space. There were only 4 or 5 rooms on each floor.
There is a cafe right accross the street from the hotel. It had good food and was just what we needed. We didn't feel like exploring and were ready to eat and lay down after a tiring day. There is also a seven eleven around the corner (about a block away) along with a row of street vendors selling a variety of food.
The room is large, the shower had plenty of hot water (it was supplied by an instant hot water tank) and the A/C was cold. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were clean.
The WiFi was some of the best we had for the whole trip. It was fast and so I took the chance to make sure that all of my devices were updated. The free mini bar is also appreciated. It had water, beer, soft drinks, and snacks. There was also a hot water pot with all the necessary sides.
I was not expecting an extensive breakfast in the morning. However, it was excellent. They had fresh fruit (dragon fruit- yum!) first, then you pick your tea, then there was a choice of bread (do you want it toasted?) with a large assortment of jams and then they had a card with pictures of different types of eggs. You could then point to the one you wanted to order. They came out fresh and hot. You could also have ham with the eggs. The staff for breakfast doesn't speak a lot of English, but it was fine. My husband assumed (and I was right behind him) that it was a serve yourself continental breakfast with the way they had it laid out on the counter. However, he was kind of scolded (better him than me) by the girl as we were supposed to have a seat and she would bring it to us. We both got a big laugh out of this. Don't make the same mistake and "get in trouble" with the staff. They weren't mean, she was just very determined. :>
They took us to back to the airport and dropped us off at the right door for our airline. It took about 15 minutes. I hope to properly visit Bangkok some day and this is a little far from the city center, but if I am ever passing through- I will definitely stay here again.

I stayed overnight at the Lilac Relax-Residence en route from Sydney to Istanbul. Its proximity to the airport and the free courtesy bus made it a very convenient place to stay. I arrived at 5.30pm which gave me time to walk to the station and catch the train into Bangkok for dinner and be back at the hotel at 10pm (so I also got to see a little bit of Bangkok).

The hotel was excellent. The room was quite, clean and comfortable. The staff were friendly, helpful and efficient. Not surprisingly lilac is the theme of the Lilac-Relax Residence. Everything was lilac, the courtesy bus, the staff's uniforms, the rooms. Even the pen for registering had a lilac on it. The hotel was good value at A$66 including breakfast.

A perfect spot to stay between flights. Free pick up and transfer back to the airport which was so convenient. Big room, comfy bed, great air con, hot shower, free minibar, 2 minutes walk to a 7eleven. I'd definitely stay here again.

We stayed here for three nights before heading to Bhutan and coming back from Bhutan. The pick up service was on time and the check in was fast. Wifi worked well and the room was clean. The minibar was all complimentary which was value added. There were convenient stores and food stalls nearby. You can definitely taste authentic food in such a short period of stay! The staff were very helpful and welcoming. We planned to go out to the city for a day and the staff provided free shuttle bus service to the nearest railway station and a local phone for contacting them. Great stay overall and will come back again if we transit at BKK airport.

We had a brief layover to get to Cambodia and had to overnight near the airport. The driver picked us up quickly and got us to the hotel in ten minutes. The room was super clean and had some drinks and snacks included in the price, which were very welcome after getting off a long flight. We left too early for breakfast, but the shuttle back to the airport in the morning was just as efficient. The staff behind the desk were friendly. The wifi and the air conditioning worked really well. No complaints and would stay here if we overnight in BKK for the airport again.
