“Lovely experience”
Reviewed November 16, 2012

I booked the "Temple and River of Kings" tour through Intrepid, and met Gof, the tour leader for the tour. He was very knowledgable and fun and added a personal touch, even with recommending a place for lunch!

We took a long tail boat along the canal to see house boats and temples from the river, Gof bought bread to feed the fish (it was a frenzy!), then he led us around the reclining buddha temple Wat Pho (really beautiful). By this time it was a very hot day and Gof bought us cold water to drink before we took a tuk tuk to the Grand Palace to see the Emerald buddha.

He was friendly throughout, sharing tips and helping us to respect the location customs. Finally we took a local bus back to the Khaosan area. An enjoyable and eventful morning, definitely worth doing!

“Tuk tuk your morning away”
Reviewed November 13, 2012

We wanted to see bangkok from a more local point of view and my wife saw this advertised on travel zoo it turned out to be well worth the money.
Joe our tour guide a former monk was defiantly the right man for the job to show us around, especially the reclining Buddha temple. The flower market was interesting and very vibrant, but found the amulet market a little tedious I must admit, but got to see alot of Bangkok most people just don't.
Tuk tuk your morning away with joe and soak it all in. Thank you joe

“Bangkok to Hat Yai by train”
Reviewed November 5, 2012

In September 2012 I caught the overnight trian from Bangkok on an unforgetable and fascinating journey to Hat Yai. It left Bangkok's famous Hua Lamphong station at 3.30 pm and arrived some 23 hours later at Hat Yai. I had a second class air condition sleeper, bottom bunk all for a mere 845 baht or $26.00 aussie dollars. It was a very comfortable journey with friendly food vendors getting off and on at every stop. Theie was a restaurant car on the train which served me a lovely western type breakfast for around $3.00. The countryside was very interesting as it changed from urban to rural with families and many children playing and waving as we passed throug their villages. I would recomend this journey before it becomes fast and modernised and subsequently lose some of its charm.

Hi Honey,

Thank you for your recommendation, but I'm afraid that this is not our tour refer to the Bangkok Urban Adventures Trip. The activity you have done was the train down to Had Yai, that was not our service :-).

“Urban Adventure: Bangkok Chinatown with Pam”
Reviewed November 3, 2012

Excellent evening out with Pam from Intrepid Urban Adventures whilst doing the Chinatown and Markets tour. Meeting point was easy to find and in a great location right neat Koh San for a late breakfast prior to tour. Don't eat lunch!! You will have a hearty dinner on this tour. Pam was an excellent guide who spent time answering our questions and making sure we were safe whilst travelling on various forms of local transport. Would highly recommend anyone to this tour who hasn't already seen the main sights of Chinatown.

“A great Bangkok experience for both new and return visitors”
Reviewed October 16, 2012

We chose the Tuk Tuk Adventure tour in Bangkok as we were looking for something a little different that didn't involve travelling hours in a bus or van and a tour that would show us more of the 'off the tourist trail' Bangkok culture and lifestyle. Also, I had been to Bangkok many times before but my travelling companions were there for the first time so we needed something that would suit us all. From the time we gathered at the pickup point, our guide, Gof (sorry not sure of the spelling) was friendly and informative and he made sure that everyone was comfortable. We had 7 on our tour (Irish, American and Australian) so including the guide it was a 4 tuk tuk convoy through the back streets of Bangkok. We visited the Phahurat Market in Little India, amulet and flower markets. The highlight of the morning was a visit to Wat Saket, the Golden Mount Temple where there are amazing views of the entire city. This was organised well as we visited early to avoid tourist crowds and we almost had the place to ourselves. We visited the reclining Buddah at Wat Pho which is amazing but it was crowded by the time we got there.
This tour is suitable for anyone who wants to see more of the real Bangkok, with a couple of popular tourist stops included. It may be unsuitable for anyone with mobility issues or small children - the 318 step climb to the top of Wat Saket might be difficult for some, as would be the walks through the markets. However, having said that I am sure they would customise something to suit. Highly recommended for anyone who wants a glimpse of the real Bangkok.
The tour lasted about 4 hours and transportation back to our hotel was arranged. A great experience and would do it again. Bring walking shoes and money for drinks, snacks and souvenirs at the markets.
