I was a little taken aback when we arrived because the hostel is situated down a quiet alley and there seemed to be quite a bit of security. Getting into the front door required being buzzed in or having key access and there are security cameras pointed at every corner of the hostel. However, I concur with other reviewers that this area is very safe. The alley is very brightly lit at night and there is alot of activity within 30 seconds walk from the front door due to the location in Bangkok's lively Patpong district. Rooms were IMPECCABLY CLEAN and very comfortable and quiet. The location is very convenient with public transportation a 5 minute walk away and tons of eating, drinking and shopping options just around the corner. Highly recommend this place to travelers.

This place is simply fantastic. In the heart of Patpong, down a small, dodgy-looking alleyway, this is just a wonderful place to stay in Bangkok.
The rooms are ridiculously clean (we had a private double ensuite) and very spacious and comfortable. The location is fantastic, because Salem Daeng skytrain station is a minute's walk away, which is a good location to get to anywhere in the city.
The staff are very friendly and helpful, and stored our bags for us for free. The reception is accessed by a swipe card, so security is excellent.
I can't say anything negative about this place, except that we didn't have enough time to stay longer. Would recommend to anyone.

I loved my stay there. Very well located, clean comfortable and even cosy room right in the business center (and 5 min walk to the railtrain). The staff there is lovely, helpfull and smiling... the prices are really cheap compare to other places in the same area.
I hope more travellers will let comment about this place which deserves a good reputation.

Great little place in the middle of Silom. Very secure hostel and rooms. Amazingly helpful and friendly staff. Great prices. Great rooms - just great!!!
It's only downside is that you should walk past lady boy bars and massage places to get to the hostel, but that's not hard to do!

Our two night stay at Sunflower Place Silom was excellent. The property is new, clean, and charming. Towels were provided, and beds were comfortable. Friendly staff helped us find some obscure locations by writing out instructions for taxi drivers in Thai. They also provided sound advice about using metered taxis instead of tuk tuks.

The hostel's proximity to the BTS and MRT stations is good, a 10 minute walk to either station, at most. The hostel is located off a side street, and around a corner, so it can be tricky to find. I recommend printing the map from their website and having it handy. The walk from the BTS station down Silom Road seemed to take forever while dragging luggage through the chaos of the night market, but it is really not that far. Do not be discouraged, just keep walking down the right side of Silom Road until you spot the Silom 6 sign (look close, it is marked). Make a right, then follow the map.

I had very low expectations for this place - the pictures on the website looked too good to be true, especially for the low room rate. A hostel nearby Patpong? Sounded like it would be a noisy place. We arrived at night and had to pass through a fairly dark alley. Expectations went even lower. Plus, we were not in the highest of spirits after a 12-hour bus journey from Siem Reap.

But that all changed when we entered and given a very warm welcome by the manager Wiwi. When we entered our room, I wondered what the catch was. Two big beds, there was enough room for two to walk around, ensuite bathroom and a medium-sized fridge, with two bottles of water provided. Decent-sized bathroom had hot water with good water pressure. Patpong bars could not be heard from our room ... this was too good to be true! Were there hidden charges?

Well, there weren't any hidden charges. And the room, which is immaculately cleaned with towels and sheets changed daily, looked even better than the pictures on the website. Everything a traveler needs is provided for: wi-fi access in rooms, 2 PCs in the lobby, free water (tea/coffee, etc), guidebooks for reference - there's even a bathroom scale in the lobby to check how much weight you and/or your luggage have put on at the end of your stay. It also has a locked storage area for luggage.

The hostel is worth the effort it takes to initially locate it - best to print out the directions in English/Thai which the manager provides. The alley leading to it, though it's a little dark at night, is very safe (even for solo women travelers). Sunflower Place doesn't feel like a hostel - no bunk beds, no rowdy guests who are drunk, etc. I liked the establishment's policy of only allowing registered guests into the rooms.

The manager is very friendly without being intrusive and the reception staff go out of their way to ensure you have a good stay in Thailand. They were extremely helpful when I was trying to find my way to a place which had little guidebook information. They also pointed me to the right place to get pork rinds.

Sunflower Place is in a lively area and in an excellent location. It's near the trains which lead to the pier, is a short bus ride away from the subway which leads to the airport and Chatuchak weekend market, near airport bus stop, etc. There is a mall/grocery store within 7 minutes' walk, the night market/morning streetfood vendors are 2 minutes' away.

My only gripe -- and this is a minor one -- is that the beds are rather hard. Breakfast isn't included in the rate but with so many cheap food options in the area, this isn't necessary.

In short, Sunflower Place totally exceeded my expectations. I'm definitely going back there the next time I'm in Bangkok. Budget accommodation in Bangkok doesn't get any better than this - it's even better than some Thai hotels which I've stayed in.

This place didn't look promising on the outside as it is on a fairly uninspiring looking soi, but you get a sense of what its like as soon as you enter. You are met by friendly staff with good English. There are lots of facilities and leaflets in the foyer that are free to use. The rooms are large and very clean. I have never come across better rooms at that price in that area of Bangkok. The location is perfect because you are in the middle of everything. However, it is important to state that this is a budget hotel. If you are after luxury, then this isn't the place....but if you are after a cozy, family run place which is well located, then this is a good find.

The only drawback is that when you turn on the water, you can hear a loud pumping noise for about 5 mins afterwards. This can be a bit annoying at first, but I got used to it quickly.
