“Clean, social, great location”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 30, 2013

Nappark was a great hostel to stay in whilst in Bangkok because it is actually very clean, which is unusual! Bathrooms were nice. Loved the outdoor drinking area for meeting new people and people-watching on the street! Great location for stumbling home from the nightlife. Just don't stay too long in Bangkok! A couple of nights then get up to Chiang Mai or the islands!

For our first three nights in Thailand we decided to pay a little more and book a nicer hostel, and we were not disappointed! Comfy beds, air con, free internet and a fantastic "porch" area to meet new people!
The prices if the beers and soft drinks are almost double that of the seven eleven across the road so keep that in mind!

Overall a fantastic service

After reading the excellent reviews already on trip advisor, my friend and I decided to book Nappark for our first three days travelling in Bangkok. The hostel is great! The staff are friendly, the security is tight (you can't get upstairs to your room without your key and you can't get into your room without a key) there are massive lockers in the bedrooms which means lots of room for your valuables along with your backpack. The toilets and showers are very clean and they have a big social area downstairs with computers and a chill out area where you can lie down and speak to other people staying in the hostel. Your bed is made everyday and room cleaned. We had such a great time at Nappark and no other hostel so far on the trip has even come close in standards!

Stayed here for two nights. Good, relaxed atmosphere, near khao san. Staff were also very helpful. Only bad thing i have to say, is that the last night a big group of drunk guests were very loud in the reception area. I was in the dorm room right next to it, and didn't get much sleep that night. Other than this, the hostel was a great experience.

Stayed here in June and found it very clean and the lockers that they offer are big enough to fit your backpack in. Felt very safe here especially as you get a wrist band that lets you in the dorm area. The communal area downstairs offers free internet which is handy when planning a trip and its so easy to meet people in this space as everyone sits down here relaxing. Its a bit pricey for a hostel but then it is in Bangkok!

Absolutely brilliant place to stay in Bangkok, people that work here could not be more helpful. The hostel is only 1 street away from Khao San Road, excellent location! Free wifi and excellent facilities, really clean and we met lots of lovely people in hostel. If you are looking for a quiet place to stay take a smaller room for 6, I spent one night in that room before moving to the larger room for 22. It is very well laid out so you do have some privacy even in such a large dorm. If I ever come back to Bangkok I would defo stay here again, although I don't really like Bangkok! But this place made it bearable. Air con is amaze balls!!!

I don't usually write reviews on backpacking hostels in SE Asia - I've been to so many, mostly unremarkable. But I'll make an exception for Nappark...

I've stayed here many times over the years and it remains my favourite hostel on Earth. Always clean, always great service - but that, you expect. No, the thing that makes it great is how easy it is to make great friends there.

For those uninitiated in the ways of Khao San, Bangkok, it is the global crossroads for backpackers. Everyone you meet there is just starting or ending a hugely ambitious backpacking journey around SE Asia. So expect some great war stories, mad nights out with people you'll only know for a day or two but will converse with long after you've left. Nappark is the spiritual centre of this centre. 5 mins walk from Khao San Road proper but far enough that its chilled when you need it to be. Great, great place - go there!!
