“Good budget hotel”

I stayed at Legacy express in December 2012 and chose it because of its location and low price.
The rooms are nice and comfortable and the service is very friendly. Maybe most of all the doorman, willing to help you at any time. The location is good as it's close to the skytrain making transportation easy. Siam square is only a short walk away.
However, the breakfast could be better and the halls as well as the rooms could use a lick of new paint.
I also visited the hotel in October 2010 and only two years later it had already suffered quite a bit.
All in all a nice budget hotel and I would not hesitate to stay here again.

We choose this hotel for 2 nights stay since it is with good price and good location. In terms of the cleaniness of the room, it is good enough, clean and hygiene. But for the staff, I don't think they are providing good service, when I do my check-in and asking for one more blanket, I had been informed that I have to pay for that, which I think is ridiculous since if I feel cold, I need to pay to get the warm. Also, as we are staying for 2 nights, the other day morning the housekeeper knock at our door to ask if she can clean our room, which I don't think she suppose to do so. When I do my check-out, I have been standing in front of the front desk saying I would like to check-out and yet no one answer me, after awhile I ask for check-out again, the staff just show me an unfriendly manner saying "Your room is done". Seems I am distrubing him.

However, the doorman is very different, he is so nice, assisting us with all his initiative (not because of tips), asking us where to go everyday, recommending us local restaurants, caring about us, he is the staff that provides me the best memory of the stay.

For the facility, I do understand that it is an express one, but I think they have to at least do some decoration for their restaurant at the ground floor, it is too raw, too dim, the chair is too crappy.

I have to admit I did enjoy my stay due to the great location and friendly staff. The doorman/man that would help with Taxis was adorable and such a wonderful help!
Something I totally missed (I have no idea how!) was there is no pool! I was a bit gutted by this but it was my own fault.
The breakfast was pretty average, I'll admit other than the potatoes I didn't eat out of the warm trays after the first day (the food was a bit gross) I was thankful that the chef was there to cook fresh omelettes. The juice is also very sweet cordial, not fresh juice.
The room itself was also average, very dark and the tiny black bugs someone else mentioned I also encountered. The shower would go from hot to cold to hot to cold while having a shower, and when I mentioned this to the staff they sent maintenance up to show me how to work the hot and cold handle of the shower, when I tried to explain I knew how to work it and that wasn't the issue, no one understood so I gave up and tolerated it.
The free wifi was good :) Maids were extremely noisy so don't plan on sleeping in.
Would I stay here again? Maybe. It wasnt great but it was a good base and extremely cheap so I guess you get what you pay for.

We stayed at the Legacy Express for 5 nights, 3 at the start of our vacation and 2 at the end with Pattaya and Koh Samui in between, in February/March 2013. We chose it because the price was good, the website photos looked good, and it was in a good location for our needs.

This a brilliant case of the photos DO lie. The hotel website says it has a restaurant, and the pictures actually look pretty good. The reality is different. There is a dark unwelcoming room with no windows. The floor walls and ceiling are just bare unpainted concrete, not the chic well decorated welcoming place on the hotel website photos, and the food? Well, even though breakfast was included in the room rate, we ate there once and had toast. The rest of the food looked frankly unappetizing to put it mildly. The rooms in the website photos look bright and inviting - this is just the pro photographer's lighting. The room was dark and dingy with a really small window that gave little natural light.

Check in was slow as they resolved a complaint by a guest checking out. We got up to our room and couldn't get in. We went downstairs to find that they had coded the key card wrongly. They replaced it and we got into the room to find that someone had been smoking in a no smoking room. So, they swapped rooms for us.

The room had that cheap musty smell which permeated the bedding. The furniture is scratched and way past its best. The shower cubicle leaked.

Housekeeping was by far the noisiest I have heard in any hotel. The 2 ladies on our floor would split up to clean the rooms, and then communicate to each other by screaming at the top of their lungs in Thai down the corridor. They also have walkie talkies for staying in touch with reception, and these were turned up to full volume. My wife was unwell for the first couple of days and stayed in bed, but getting any rest was pretty difficult under those circumstances.

We thought of staying at another hotel on the return leg but as we were already booked in we continued with the Legacy. We stayed in the exact same room, and the same issues existed with one more. This time we had to contend with tiny little black bugs everywhere - in the bed, luggage, everywhere. They were coming out of the bathroom.

The location is good - on Sukhumvit, near to Soi 4 and Bumrungrad Hospital. However, it has one big disadvantage - as it is on the street itself it has no drive in area for taxis, so they have to drive up onto the pavement in the chaotic Bangkok traffic. Getting a taxi there is really difficult too.

In short, if you are on a budget, there are definitely way better places to stay than this. Don't believe the photos.

Room Tip: I don't know if there is such a thing as a good room in this hotel.

Convenient location very close to phloenchit BTS.Very courteous,smiling and helpful reception staff ,front desk manager,guard,bell boy.Clean room(though not very spacious),very clean bathroom,Towels.complimentary coffee sachet,FREE Wi-FI.break fast average.indian restaurants few meters away from the hotel.value for money,budget hotel.

Great location, near BTS and eating place. In addition, 7-11 just beside the hotel. But my main point is the hospitality from the service staff, the recteptionist, chamber maids and the door man who is always there to serve us with a smile. Totally hassle free and requests are promptly delivered. Thanks you L.E!

My wife and I booked for one night only as we flew in late to Bangkok before we stayed in our other hotel. We grabbed it for ne night with 2 x breakfast for $60AUD.
The rate was very cheap. When we arrived we were met by a nice doorman who helped us with our bags. The two girls on the front desk were so helpful, kind and quick. Before too long we had our key and in our room.
We we're given a smoking room and we called up to have it changed. In an instant we moved to anther room and it was all sorted. The room was large and spacious. The beds clean big and comfy. The shower was ok but large as well.
The hotel has a 7-11 out front and directly next to it there is an great night eatery offering great food for very cheap price. Only a 2 min walk to the Ploen Chit BTS.
Breakfast was included and it was good with a decent selection of food. When we checked out it was less then a 2min exercise.
The hotel is great price, great location, great staff and I would stay again.
