“Okay I suppose ..”
Reviewed January 24, 2013

Oh dear, more cheeky 1/2 line attempts at a review here.

Right, I have been visiting the Londoner (another of those dreadful 'theme' names, lol) on a few occasions when perambulating between soi 33 down to another admittedly 'themed' place that I visit rather more frequently, but which is quite a bit quieter and much more friendly.

Yes, this place is noisy, no question, with young female bar staff dressed rather incongruously in English beefeater costumes that do nothing for local fashion, or history for that matter. The beer is - well, beer. 'nuff said about that, apart from it's not particularly cheap. I've never eaten here so I reserve judgement on the fare that they may or may not serve.

As for the bit about 'ladies', well apparently wednesday is the 'freelancers' occasion as an ex-pat mate of mine kindly but needlessly informed me. Let's face it these people are 2 a penny in that part of Bangkok, so let's not start gtetting carried away or anything.

Be careful of the stairs leading down to the bar, by the way - they're a bit steep, and if you've already stopped several pints from going sour on your way there ... need i say more?

“Christmas lunch in Bangkok”
Reviewed January 20, 2013

The Londoner charmed us with their Christmas lunch. A must try for those who want a change from Thai food. The ambience and cuisine are worth a visit.

“Great Atmosphere”
Reviewed January 13, 2013

I have been here several times, including New Ear's Eve in 2011 and most recently we ate Christmas dinner here in 2012. The dinner was a 5 course meal which was really quite good. I would have preferred a buffet but no complaints. The place usually has live music like jazz, cover bands, or karaoke. Great watering hole for ex-pats in Bangkok.

“Lots of under-aged teenagers”
Reviewed January 10, 2013

Londoners is just another English Pub. Nothing special about it aside from for those who like to drink, Wednesdays nights are buy 1 get 1 free all nite.

The food is average but the portions are huge, I guess this makes up for its pricing. This pub has a lot of under aged teenagers which makes me feel like I am at a big high school reunion. They are usually in the back where the pool table is and get unacceptably drunk which makes the atmosphere not so nice.

“Better value to be had”
Reviewed January 2, 2013

We visited Londoner for dinner - found it to be very expensive when compared to other pubs in the area - The fish batter was burnt so would not recommend this dish, however the Cornish pasty was very nice.
