“Very basic, but got lucky...”

I paid budget and that's what I got. My only real gripe was the pillow, my word, it was black with mould and made me want to chunder. I had a single room up one flight of stairs from reception. As I was staying four nights, I was delighted that reception's wifi reached my room. At £5 a night one can't grumble. The room itself was a single, and it had a powerful fan. The partition wall that you could see over if you stood on the bed was a nightmare; great for privacy, awful for noise, of which there was many a selfish turd willing to sing and shout throughout the night.

That said it was cheap as chips and would return. 7/11 next door. Takes a while to find alleyway to hotel, it's about midway up on the left (with the police station end behind you).

Only one toilet in the block and often busy, and of course this tiny room is sopping wet through if anyone has a shower, but it's not a problem.

Room Tip: I think my room was number 105, but it was the only single room on the first floor, in the block jus...

This hostel is cheap and quiet depending on the time you decide to visit. I would recommend you get an ac room, for around 600 baht for a 2 person room. Great if your on a budget but don't get the fan room as we found that the fan we had didn't spin very fast, causing me to sweat like a pig.

We chose to stay here because of its convenient location and cheap price.
It wasn't the worst place I've stayed in, but I doubt I will ever stay there again.

THE GOOD:
- great location. It's right on khao San road, but its down a little alley, so you're close to all the bars and markets, but not so close that you are kept up all night by noise.
-the staff are very friendly and helpful.
-the rooms & bedding (double fan room) was clean.

THE BAD:
- you WILL get woken up by drunk punters coming home in the early hours.
- the fan rooms are MAD CRAZY STUPID HOT! Go for ac if you intend on getting any sleep.
- no outside window.

Room Tip: - Get an AC room! - Rooms that don't overlook the quart yard will be quieter.

Perfect position on Khosan Road and a cheap place to stay. Good for travellers who are in a group as there aren't dorms. Rooms were clean and shower was hot. Only downside is that the shower isn't usually anywhere near the room and on one occasion the sink in the bathroom had no pipe so the tap water flooded onto the floor.

Clean and professionally run. Reliable and cheap left luggage service. Single rooms for 300 baht a night. Bathroom out in the corridor (perfect: who wants Asian plumbing next to where they sleep). Location is perfect, in the middle of the Khao San road, convenient to everything in Banglamphu, the prettiest old neighbourhood in Bangkok. Yet it's in a quiet and surprisingly spacious courtyard, so the thumping music doesn't disturb and you don't feel claustrophobic. There is a strict house policy against any kind of funny business. The only downside is you must be prepared to either take a tuktuk or motorcycle taxi to/from the nearest skytrain at National Stadium, since there is no skytrain close by, but that's the price of being in Banglamphu. During the day, take the Chao Phraya river taxi or the Khlong Saen Saeb canal boat.

Bottom line, this is the best run and best situated hotel in what for travellers is the most central part of Bangkok.

A very basic room with cheap price. I got the no window room. So, there was a funny smell in the room. All I did was opened the room door and sprayed some mosquito repellent, and the funny smell was gone. The location which is in an alley helped to reduce the blasting sound played in khao San road middle of the night.

I stayed here for one night, is a shame all the noise that was coming from the party scene of Khasoan rd, was a bit hard to fall as sleep, but kahosan rd is a place to party so if you want to be close to the action this is the place to be.
with the price of a single room and shared toilet/shower you get linen, bath towel and breakfast(tea or coffee with 2 toast), wifi internet is free to but you only can pick it up from the reception area. there's a nice patio to enjoy the soft wind and umbrellas to be away from the hot sun. The facilities and rooms are spotless. Well ventilated, there is windows in all rooms.
the only negative thing I have to say is that the night time receptionist girl was rude and not smiley at all. When I want it to take a shower about 16:30 (after walking around all day in the heat) she say that there was no water available until 6pm because "technical problems", she say it in a not very friendly way considering that Bangkok is 35C all day and I was really needing a shower...The guy in the morning when i done my check in was nice do, but that girl in the night time could have a change of attitude!
