Description: This is the one and only sustainable seafood restaurant in Thailand. Based on a USA "Oyster Bar" concept with lots of fresh shucked oysters, and loads of seafood selections. Crabs, Mussels, Clams, fresh fish! All of our seafood is sustainable and imported. No local "sea bass" here or Snow fish or farmed salmon that is found everywhere! Home made pastas, chowders, salads, and lots of choices of side dishes makes TOB a fun place to eat and entertain at. Our menu changes daily with fresh organic produce and seafood. Everything made in house and NO MSG!Our cuisine is fun, tasty and healthy.

We had been to the Oyster Bar several times since they opened for business few years back. The place had limited seating capacity however the customers still were well seated in their busiest time. Of course majority of the clients were there for the oysters and they were very good in providing the variety of oysters from different part of the world and they were fresh. Beside the oyster, the place also had other dishes which we found quite good to share among ourselves after our oysters and a bottle of white wine. Great place to go for something unusual in an unusual location.

Dear Khun Charn, thank you very much for taking the time to write a very nice review of TOB. Everyone likes a pat on the back from time to time:) It is our mission to provide the freshest, sustainable seafood in Thailand! We import from our exclusive sources twice weekly to maintain the high quality necessary for a successful seafood restaurant. We hope to see you in again soon!

As for the location, I am afraid my wife and I are selfish. We live just 5 minutes away and missed fresh seafood living in Bali for nine years. I grew up on the Long Island Sound in New York and ate seafood everyday! We're close to the Rama III exit on the tollway and only a 30 minute drive from Asoke/Sukhumvit unless the traffic is nuts. We have plenty of parking and also now have an outdoor deck for enjoying the weather (when its nice) and for smoking.

When you come in again, please introduce yourself to me or Warunee. We'd like to thank you personally for taking the time to get the work out about THEOYSTERBARbangkok!

Billy Bivalve.

Sunday lunch at The Oyster Bar was a very pleasant experience.
8 kinds of Oysters available- we enjoyed a selection of them. The freshest and best oysters we have ever eaten.
Other seafood dishes were equally delicious and excellently presented by friendly and helpful staff.
If the food and service are the key criteria for success, this restaurant should be full of happy diners every day of the week.
Highly recommended.

Dear Mr. McAleer, thank you for your positive review! We are all very excited when we get a pat on the back. My wife and I opened up TOB some five years ago because we had a difficult time finding fresh seafood in Thailand. I am from the USA and grew up on the water and then lived in Bali for ten years and used to eating fresh seafood daily. My company has been selling fresh seafood around the world for 30 years now so setting up deliveries in Bangkok was easy. We are proud you enjoyed the fruit of our efforts! Please do come back as we are always stretching the envelope of seafood cuisine.

Warmest regards,
Billy Bivalve

liked the selection of international oysters - but disappointed there were no South Pacific oysters. Wine list is good and international. can be very expensive - $5us per oyster and $50 bottle of wine.

Hi Renoman, thanks for the five stars! We're all proud that you enjoyed our seafood. Sorry no oysters from down under but they are not in season in March. We enjoy our North American oysters very much as I grew up in the states and have been an oyster farmer since I was 17 years old. I enjoy very much the oysters from Tasmania and we hope to have some in when they start up this summer. As for our wine prices, we run a very low margin on the wines but with the 300% duty imposed on imported wines, its brutal trying to find good value wines. Next time you're in, try some of our local wines which are priced very reasonably. We sure hope to have you in again!

I visited this restaurant with my 30 year old son and his partner. The restaurant was very clean and the service very friendly and efficient. We ordered a large seafood platter as well as 2 dozen assorted oysters. The oysters were fresh, well presented and delicious. The crab and fish on the platter left a little to be desired. The wine list was comprehensive and expensive.
Overall, we had a wonderful evening with good food, good wine and a lovely ambience for dining. The evening was expensive , especially being in Bangkok, but to try so many different oysters was something special.

Hi Upinair! Thanks for taking the time to write a review for us. It is greatly appreciated. Noted on how expensive your lovely dinner was but you gave it away with "especially in Bangkok..." If anything, a great seafood meal in Bangkok should be expensive! Like it would be in Sydney, London, New York, Los Angeles, Tokyo... ALL of our seafood and huge selection of oysters are imported and imported twice weekly. Our seafood platter costs less than a comparable platter in Sydney, Auckland, Singapore. Yes, Thai food is cheap but anything imported will be expensive. Oh and wines have 300% duty placed on them making them extremely expensive. But all that being said, we're glad you enjoyed and came to visit. Hopefully we will see you again and please ask for me so I can navigate you around the menu and show you more fun!

Warmest regards,

WB
