“Great hotel, great value!”
Reviewed January 22, 2013

S31 is the larger and nicer hotel of the sister hotels S15 and S31. The location is great, though you're right between two sky train stations and its a bit further of a walk to the stations than some of the other Sukhumvit area hotels. While its still a good location, you don't get quite all the craziness that you do outside of the Nana area hotels.

This is the 3rd time I've stayed here. This time I got the Duplex Suite. It's 2 levels with a huge bed and bathroom upstairs. Kitchen, living room, and powder bath down stairs. All very well done.

Very nice exercise room, and fantastic pool on the 8th floor. Beautiful at night swimming with all the city lights around you.

Breakfast is really good. Lots of choices. My kids also enjoyed it.

The busboy/doorman/concierge guys are great. The kind of guys that you greet by name. Very helpful, and enjoyable to interact with. This hotel is my new all time favorite in Bangkok.

Room Tip: All the rooms are nice, but the two story rooms are really cool.

My wife and I stayed at S31 for two nights (19-21 Jan). We took the airport commuter train from Suvarnabhumi airport to Phya Thai (Baht 45 each, 30 minutes) and changed to BTS Sukhumvit Line and got off at Phrom Phong BTS station (Baht 25 each, 5 minutes). It's a 15 minute walk to the hotel located at the corner of Soi 31. Hotel lobby is located on 8th floor and concierge is on ground floor. Check-in/out was efficient. We were upgraded to a junior suite on 12th floor - corner unit with nice street views (ceiling to floor windows). Concierge is very friendly and helpful with bags, hailing taxis, storing luggage. Hotel exterior and ground floor entrance is unpretentious.

Hotel location is between Asoke and Phrom Phong BTS stations (slightly nearer distance-wise to Phrom Phong BTS). Shopping malls are in easy reach (Terminal 21, Robinsons about 15 minutes walk). Convenience stores nearby.

Room is comfortable and spacious. Room service is prompt. Even though the hotel is located right next to busy Sukhumvit Road road noise was almost non-existent in the room. It is an SLH ("Small Luxury Hotels of the World") boutique hotel.

The complimentary buffet breakfast was excellent with quite an extensive range (Asian & Western). Quality was much better than many hotel breakfasts that I've had at other Bangkok hotels (including fancier ones too). Overall, a very good experience with the friendly service by staff. It is very good value for money compared to other higher end hotels.

Taxi fare from hotel to Don Muang airport is Baht 330 (including Baht 60 express toll) and takes about 40 minutes depending on traffic conditions.

Just stayed at S31 in January and can confirm it is a great place to stay in the busy area of Sukhumvit in Bangkok. 1st class treatment from all staff from the moment we arrived. We were upgraded to a duplex room on check-in and what a room it was. (1st hotel room I've stayed in with stairs !!!). I used the more than adequate gym facilities and my other half had a nice morning swim in the pool before enjoying a hearty breakfast. The hotel was in walking distance to the Terminal 21 shopping mall and various transport stations. Altogether a fantastic hotel (we got a great deal on booking.com) to stay at and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to friends and family visiting the chaos that is Bangkok.

Room Tip: Not sure the price difference from a standard to a duplex as we were upgraded but if it isn't mu...

Wonderful the Presidential Suite. We stayed with children. They enjoyed the room in swimming pool, and we liked the sauna and hamman in our bathroom. The room is modern, clean and the view is fantastic.
The spa is great and we had the best thai massage. The staff is helpful and nice. The only problem we had was that the room was ready very late in the afternoon we arrived and after a long flight was not nice. But they gave as a little room while we were waiting. Another day, we came back early in the afternoon and at 5pm they didn't have clean the room yet!!!! But they are so polite that we can excuse them.
We apreciate a lot also the breakfat. It finish a little too early.
I would like to come back again and stay again in the Presidential Suite!!!

Room Tip: Presidential suite

Hotel super contemporary, youthful and outside the tourist circuit. Five minutes from the sky train station. The rooms are wonderful lofts, new and very tasteful decor. The pool, although very modern and beautiful, does not have enough chairs for guests to lay in the sun. Often I arrived at the pool and the chairs were all occupied. Service is attentive, but they try to push more expensive taxis and the hotel's tuk tuk, which should always be available to take to the sky train station, was almost never at the hotel. I recommend the hotel to anyone who does not want to stay near the river and want to live life the Bangkok lifestyle.

This time again I stayed in their duplex room. Unlike last time I went out most of the time, this time I really "stayed in" the hotel and used the faciltiies. The staff were very helpful and nice. They tried their best to serve. They even allowed me to use their computer to print my personal stuff.

I used the gym every day. The staff there provided me a little towel for the gym, locker and a bottle of water - how thoughtful!! For the swimming pool, they provided me a big towel and also a bottle of water in case the guests got dehydrated. They also had free cookies and cold water in front of the restaurant next to the pool for the guests. Oh and free popcorn as well.

I left the room at 4:00pm on some dates and they would still clean the room perfectly. They left a little Christmas gifts in the room as well.

I didn't try the spa because there are cheaper selections nearby. The hotel is very close to the Emporium and a lot of food stalls are within the area. 7-11 and Boots are also within a 5-minute walk. The closest BTS station should be Phrom Prong which is about four stations away from Siam, probably takes about 10 minutes to reach there.

Try to book the room from their website on the 31st of each month. They have their special price for the duplex room for 3,331 baht including all taxes and breakfast. They offer the special price on all dates including Christmas and New Year.

Remember, get the duplex room!!

Room Tip: Get the duplex room!!
