“Very nice hotel with very good location!”
Reviewed October 5, 2013

Good value for the location where is located very close to Asoke! Breakfast is great!! They also offer free tuk tuk shuttle to the Sukhumvit Road. Very nice and helpful staff. The hotel room is very well designed and spacious, we will definitely stay again.

1. Service is excellent especially the front office staff, they will try to help you all they can in term of asking for direction. While all other staffs is very friendly and helpful too.

2. Location is not bad for the price.

3. Restaurant of the hotel offers delicious food with reasonable price. Worth to try out if you're not planning to go away from the hotel.

4. Room is spacious (even with extra bed added-on)

5. WIFI is so so, can't complaint much since it is offered FOC to the hotel guest.

6. I would stay at this hotel again if i visit bangkok next year.

Room Tip: Try not to get any room facing the road, maybe noisy.

This hotel is very well appointed and excellently located just off Sukhumvit and very close to Asoke and has plenty of shops and restaurants in the vicinity.

The reception is nice and airy and the staff welcoming and efficient, I have stayed here a couple of times and have arrived not long after 9AM and been fortunate that the room was ready which was excellent.

The room itself is a good size, comfortable bed and pillow selection, good WiFi and the bathroom is spacious and has all the usual amenities.

I am usually here on business and frequently need to work in my room with staff and suppliers, it can be a bit like the Spanish inquisition getting guests in but stand no nonsense!

The car park at the rear is open and a reasonable size but can get busy from time to time.

The restaurant fare including breakfast is a reasonable enough selection though would get boring after a week or so.

We booked a lengthy stay at this hotel which, unfortunately, turned out to be a huge mistake. Less than 24 hours after arriving, we asked to have our room changed because I was having a very severe allergic reaction to an EXTREMELY OFFENSIVE odor coming from the closet in our room. It was so bad and it made me feel so sick that I could not keep food down. We asked if we could PLEASE change rooms due to the situation, we BEGGED, and we were treated so disrespectfully that it was astonishing. Never, in all our travels around the globe, have we EVER been treated so badly. It was quite obvious to us that they have a real problem with Americans. The desk clerk actually told us, quite proudly, that yes, they did have other rooms available, but she flat-out REFUSED to change our room. How's that for customer service?! We weren't asking for anything more than what we had; only room that would not make me so sick I couldn't eat. Because we could not stay in that horribly toxic room another night, and the staff refused to help us in any way at all, we had no option but to check out and find accommodations elsewhere. It completely ruined our vacation and we will never, ever return. To help ensure that others don't make the same mistake, we make it a point to share our "delightful" experience with the staff at the Kingston with all of our friends and families who, in turn, relate our experience with their friends and families. Its surprising how many people have changed their minds about visiting Thailand at all after hearing our story. Assuredly, no one we've spoken with will ever stay at the Kingston. There is a whole, nice big world to travel; this is one stop you won't miss. Trust me, if your are determined to visit Bangkok, don't stay here if you have any allergies or sensitivities whatsoever. They don't care. Keep looking, as there are FAR NICER hotels in Bangkok with actual sidewalks in front of them so you're not walking out into the street and through sewer to get to the main street. There is no need whatsoever to tolerate the rude and nasty behavior of the staff here. In addition to keeping the $1000+ that we had already paid for our room, they demanded that we AGAIN pay for two nights and numerous extraneous and unwarranted charges when they forced us to leave the hotel. We spoke to them once by phone and they asked that we send a very detailed letter explaining the situation, so they could "help us". Needless to say, we never received ANY response from them whatsoever. Not surprising. Like I said, extremely rude people. They are unscrupulous and they are cheats. They will rip you off in a heartbeat. And by the way, they DO NOT speak English well at all. However, the Continent just a couple of blocks away is AWESOME! Extremely polite, very helpful and wonderfully delightful staff; not at all like the staff at the Kingston. While the Continent is more expensive, we found several other hotels where we were treated with the utmost respect and made to feel very welcome; obviously a foreign concept to the Kingston staff. Find another hotel. You won't regret it. P.S. In addition to the foul smell in the room, unless you enjoy sleeping on a board, you should seriously seek accommodations elsewhere.

First of all, I have to apologize if you feel inconvenience to stay with us. To be fair, There are a lot of personal & repetition. We are giving our best to every guests and of course at every nationality, Asian, European, American...etc They are all our guests.
Ther is no reason & Why we have to say no if the guest want to change the room. We also even upgraded the room as we'd always did to make our guest pleasantly stay.
There are a lot of story behinded but could not react and hope that all of our guests & reader will considering by carefully & fairly to the hotel.

No complaints at all. The staff understands English (big achievement in Thailand) and is absolutely upto the mark on everything. Rooms were very clean and very comfortable. Hotel offers free wi-fi. Also, its located very close to the stations and the marketplace. Eating places are aplenty especially if you a vegetarian. We eat strictly Jain food and had multiple options closeby.

My husband and I spent 2 nights here when we first arrived in Thailand. It's in a pretty perfect and convenient location, and cheap! Our room had what I'm guessing was 30-40 foot ceilings, and was a huge room. The bathroom was new and updated, but the carpet was kind of stained. The A/C could have worked better, and the bed was a bit hard...but for the price including breakfast...we really could not complain!

Room Tip: There is only one, very small elevator. If you don't want to have to wait for it, I suggest a ro...
