“Best Staff and Great Room!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed August 2, 2012

This hotel is a hidden treasure. I had a wonderful stay. Everyone was very attentive, polite, and caring. The room was large, updated, and comfortable, and the food was delicious.

It is within walking distance of the BTS and MRT (bus and metro), Station 21 (an upscale mall), a myriad of restaurants for all tastes and budgets, spas, and pubs, but is still "off the beaten path".

At first, I was apprehensive about staying in Bangkok alone, but the staff made me feel safe, secure, and truly welcome. Because of my experience with the staff, and the quality/value of your hotel, I plan to visit Bangkok again. Of course, I will stay at Kingston Suites!

Stayed at Kingston Suites for 2 days then for 4 days in July, nice hotel in good location not far from skytrain station & hotel provides tuk tuk shuttle. Rooms are large & comfortable but fridge does'nt have a freezer & windows are small.Shower is very spacious with good pressure. Breakfast very good, lots of choice, eggs cooked to order & all food hot.

This is my first time at the Kingston Suites on Sukhumvit Soi 15. Overall, I rate this property as very good value for the price. The deluxe room was spacious enough for 1-2 people and decently decorated considering the price for 3 nights was just fewer than 6000 baht, including a simple buffet breakfast. The low price was based on a 50% discount for staying on a Wednesday (you must stay at least 2 nights). The bathroom was small but was sufficient and included a shower that was very powerful and refreshing (rain shower and European style), but poor drainage so after 2-3 minutes you had to shut off the water or risk an overflow. The room included two bathrobes, but no slippers. The bed was very comfortable. The woodwork was quite remarkable with great detail, not something you see in most hotels today: this was a refreshing feature of the room. The Kingston offers a shuttle tuk tuk service to the nearby public transportation facilities (Asoke and Nana BTS and the Sukhumvit MRT), which was convenient when leaving the property with luggage. The location is excellent if you like the Sukhumvit area, which most people seem to enjoy. It is about a 5-minute walk to the Asoke BTS, which is very convenient and also to Terminal 21 (a magnificent new shopping mall located at the Asoke BTS). The staff was friendly and helpful and my 3 nights here were pleasant enough. There is a gym and swimming pool facility located at an adjacent property to the Kingston Suites, but the gym and pool are quite small and unsupervised. In fact, when I was there, there were 5 kids from about 6-12 years old from Kuwait running around and misusing the equipment. But the scary thing was the great risk of them injuring themselves. I reported to the staff that I’ve never stayed in a hotel where they allowed minors in the gym, supervised or unsupervised. The room has free Wi-Fi that is quite dependable but also very slow, which is irritating. There is also an area with free use of their computers and free Wi-Fi, which is good for those who do not have a computer with them. Although somewhat basic, the Kingston Suites is adequate for most travelers who are not looking for 5-star amenities and services. I often stay at the 5-star hotels (just came from the Inter-continental in Huahin), so of course I experience the difference, but the better 5-stars in Bangkok are priced at about 5000 baht/night and upwards—I paid 6000 baht for 3 nights! To sum up, you can’t go wrong if you stay and I am quite convinced you will be satisfied. I think the best feature is that it is located so close to the BTS which can take you to numerous the attractions in Bangkok. Try to avoid the use of taxis because of the incredible heavy traffic in Bangkok.

Room Tip: I had the deluxe which is about 6 SQM larger than the standard room. I think this room is sufficient...

This boutique hotel gets it right - very accommodating, great service, clean. They have tuk tuk service to the station since it's further away from the BTS then other hotels but it's still manageable without tuk tuk. The rooms and hotel were quite charming with their British decor - though I did laugh at the gucci wallpaper print in the bathroom. I skipped the buffet breakfasts which were included in the rate. It's quite quiet too so you're able to get a good night sleep.

Room Tip: we faced inside and not the street so were able to get a quiet sleep

Stayed at the hotel in May 2012. The hotel is a decent hotel, not a great one. However we found it value for money. The hotel staff were friendly, provided good service, so overall we enjoyed our stay.

The reception lobby is small. There are some computers provided for internet access for those who need it. Had booked a triple executive room. The room was very large. The décor looked very old but the room was clean. The bathroom was also fine, there was no bath tub.

The hotel has a small area for dining/breakfast. The breakfast was average, not too many options. They give you a small voucher and so you need to make sure you don’t lose it. We had dinner at the hotel one day, which was decent.

We took the half day tour of the Grand Palace provided by the travel desk at the hotel. The tour was good; the guide explained nicely the various aspects of the palace.

We wanted to try traditional Thai massage and were recommended a good place (Health Land Spa) which was a walking distance from the hotel. Enjoyed a good massage. Should try if you are around.

The hotel provides tuk-tuk service to take you to the nearest tube station. We used the same on multiple occasions and did not have to wait much for it.

On our day of departure, we asked for a late checkout and could stay in the room for a couple of hours extra. The overall service at the hotel was very nice.

We stayed for 2 nights in June 2012. The rooms were very clean and spacious, especially for a city. The front desk would happily flag down a taxi for you. Overall we were very pleased with this hotel. Clean and friendly.

Very happy, well located with larger than usual hotel rooms, rate was good when compared to similar 4 star properties nearby,,however it is the room size that wins,...staff friendly and helpful...the pool - well they use the one next door - bit like going to your neighbours pool, not sure was a good experience,,but at least they have pool access - however a gate in the fence would be better rather than out onto the street and then down to the neighbours back yard...if you what I mean. However do not let this put off - excellent location and value.

Room Tip: Stay Deluxe and away from corner rooms
