Reviewed February 12, 2014 via mobile

Situated in the middle of china town, surrounded by countless food & market stalls.

A little tricky to find at first, got lost afew times. Ask any local with your map/address & they'l gladly point you in the right direction.

Clean en-suite room, safety box, kitchenette, cable tv, AC, wi-fi, friendly staff.

Good value @ B1000 p/night, most definately use again.

quite simply, we loved it. We had the luck to be in China Town for the New Year celebrations at the end of January. All the good things blogged about this place are true so I won't spend time repeating. Transport wise, use the ferry! The public tickets are 15B and you can alight at any of the piers on the boat's route. Royal Palace 15 minutes. Check Inn is handily placed in this sense.
Felt completely safe at all times, tiny lanes were spotlessly clean every morning. Breakfast on the roof terrace, wonderful. Some Tuk Tuk drivers don't know it. Tell them Grand China Hotel, its only 2 minutes away at the end of the alley. Before arrival, print out the helpful map on Check Inn's web site, to show to the taxi driver at the Int. Airport. Metered fare should be about 370B plus 75B in tolls. All the staff were completely lovely.

Room Tip: there is a lift, go for a higher floor room with balcony you are going to China Town in Bangkok, do...

Stayed for 3 nights. Rooms so so. Air con old, leak water. Staff helped change room, they are nice people. Fairly good location, easy to get a taxi. Surroundings not good. Dirty and stinky alley in that area. Good price

This is a pretty decent place to stay if you want to spend most of your time in Chinatown, it's relatively close to the main street and most of the shopping in Chinatown.
However it is quite a distance away from the other places to see and shop, and the location of the hotel is tucked away down a pretty dodgy alleyway. Most rooms have a small kitchenette (stove, microwave, sink), but if you're in Bangkok you'll most likely eat out anyway.

Room Tip: Avoid the ground floor rooms, the plumbing is bad and the smell of sewage seeps through the toilet.

If you want to base yourself in Chinatown this is a good option. The rooms are extremely clean, have a kitchenette, beds were comfy and was reasonably priced at THB1000/night. It is a little difficult to find so you will need to have directions in Thai for your taxi driver.

This hotel is great for people on a budget who want to cook themselves. It has a fully equipped kitchenette. It's modern and clean. But terrible for smokers. I worst thing about this place is the name it confuses taxi and tuk tuk drivers they all assume you want to "check inn" and the or a china town hotel and they get lost even after calling the hotel. This hotel would benifit from business card with the address in Thai and a map on the back of it. Staff were ok and the street was quiet.
