“Great little place...”
Reviewed January 16, 2012

KC Guesthouse is perfect for a little stop over or budget stay. We only stayed one night before flying down to Koh Samui but it had everything we needed - we payed a little extra for air con and a hot shower and it was well worth it - still only cost us £12! The beds are a bit hard and you do get a bit of noise from the traffic outside but the location, general quirky feel, good food and helpful staff more than make up for that... You definitely get what you pay for here

Room Tip: Worth paying the extra for air con and hot shower

On my own in thailand, stumbled upon the place whilst looking for somewhere to have lunch. spoke to other guest and everyone seemed to come here year after year. Friendly, family run guesthouse. checked in for 2 nights. Been here for 6 nights now. Simple rooms with clean beds. Do have rooms with own hot shower and toilet for roughly 100 baht more but shared bathrooms are plentiful and clean. cold showers, but refreshing in the city heat. not as cold and horrible as I was expecting. I have a fan in my room but some have air con, for extra charge, maybe 100 baht max. Food is amazing. It is also cheap. for example, Had dinner, 6 or 7 large chang beers and a sprite and was 500 baht. good english as well and under 10 minute stroll to the river and to the hustle and bustle of khaosan rd. Would definitely reccomend if looking for cheap, simple, friendly and very safe place. oh yeah, they also have lockers behind reception if you feel the need for extra security but it is not needed as here is very safe. 7 eleven next door is 24hrs so if you do need any supplies its on the doorstep.

Stayed here on our second time in Bangkok this trip. Rooms were fine, price was 300 baht for a twin which given the price you'll pay on khaosan was exactly what we were looking for. No hot water but it wasn't really a problem, and free wifi.

Had a nice quiet fan single room which had 1 power point next to the light switch. Room contained towel rack huge fan and 1 shelf. I travel with a power board in my luggage so 1 power plint is not a problem. Toilets and showers were very clean and everything is tiled throughout. Excellent value for bangkok

A girls weekend in Bkk was made complete by staying at this clean, easy, family run place. The extra toilets and showers on each floor were so handy! Loving getting away from the intensity of Khao San but close enough to join if need be. All of our needs were met with a smile. Reasonably priced, yummy food and the family is so friendly. There are great little funky bars all along the street to the left of the guest house, great to see unique and local places away from tourist-ville. Would really recommend this place!!

In the KC Guesthouse, my friend thought he had uncovered a diamond in the rough. Unfortunately it was a very rough few nights. The only diamond was the daughter of this family run establishment. She was incredibly helpful and sweet.

They pride themselves on being "for all your backpacker needs" yet we didn't have as much as one plug in our room. We hadd had a gecko infested room, windows rattling due to the traffic outside, no hot water, smoke scented towels and my bed had a wooden matress. The internet downstairs was a prepay coin system. It was essential a Thai Baht hoover, as it sucked up every coin in sight. It is family run and the granny will not allow you to leave without breakfast, which is a nice touch, except when you are not hungry and she is cooking up a storm, All in all our stay was not the most pleasant experience, but certainly an experience. It was made up for by the bus they had set up to Cambodia, which we took advantage. We would highly recommend this guesthouse however have all items fully charged on check-in and bring a blow up bed.

Good location not too busy or noisy yet close to Khao San. Because its family owned and operated it is very secure. Clean showers and toilets and the choice of basic (fan in room and shared bathrooms) to higher end rooms (on suite bathrooms and A/C). Good restaurant too and right above a 24hr 7-11 which is convenient.
