“Sunday Brunch”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 23, 2013

If your a Sunday brunch lover then The Raintree Cafe at the Plaza Athenee Hotel should be first on your list of places to go. It's 5 star quality and service with an array of food that is hard to find at any other Sunday brunch in Bangkok. Steaks, Maine lobster, Sashimi, Peking Duck, Dim sum, whatever floats your boat they have it. A special mention must go to the imported French oysters, they are unmatched in Bangkok, and its the only buffet in bangkok that has a full time person opening oysters in front of you so not only are they delicious they are super fresh. Save some space for the huge cheese selection and deserts as once again they are some of the best on offer in Bangkok. Finally if you live in Bangkok and like Sunday brunch in a regular basis then its worthwhile joing the Meridian club. the cost is 9000 Baht but you get free vouchers for sunday brunch for 2 weekday brunch and a number of other free and discont vouchers and most importantly a 50% discount going forward. The freebee's more than cover the cost and the 50% discount makes enjoying future sunday brunches an extremely cheap 5 star dining experience.

“Decent buffet”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed February 4, 2013

I went to this restaurant today for lunch mainly because it was clase to the hotel I am starting in,and because of the great reviews from tripadvisor. I went to the restaurant with high expectations, and ended a bit dissapointed with the Quality of the food. The restaurant serves a big buffet for lunch in which food goes from indian cousine to sushi. The food was Ok but not great except from the desserts which actually were very good. I found the price to be a bit high for the Quality of the food 1100 Bht (36 USD), considering that you can eat much better in Bangkok for a lower price.

“Incredible!”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed January 30, 2013

We stayed here for a few nights during our honeymoon and stumbled into the Raintree our 1st morning in Bangkok....what a delightful surprise! the buffet was out of this world and the service was wonderful. We actually came back for lunch the next day and ate there for dinner as well. Everytime we dined there, the service and food was simply immpeccable!!! Later in our trip when we were in Koh Samui, we decided to actually come back a day early before our flight left, so we could dine here again. This is a restaurant we will never forget.....AMAZING!! Thank you Plaza Athenee!!!
