Perhaps the most renowned restaurant in California is the French Laundry. The “F.L.” really focuses on what food can be when an artistic chef takes the main ingredient to a level that expresses a compilation flavors, visual acumen and most importantly balance. Chef Mirco Keller at the Water Library (no relation to Thomas) possesses a talent that few great chefs portray. His food/wine parings are beyond reproach. What Chef Mirco creates at the Water Library in Bangkok is reminiscent of the creations I’d experienced at the “F.L.” in Yountville California. I dare say that Chef Mirco actually displays a bit more finesse in presentation. He sources his fruits and vegetables from Thailand and has the ability to source entrées internationally, giving him the option of serving the most flavorful cuisine possible.
I’ve posted pictures here which include one of each course from my dinner. It’s been said that; “we eat first, with our eyes” You’ll find that that’s exactly what you do here.
The service at the Water Library is sublime. Their staff are very polite, friendly and well mannered. I’d expect this at all fine dining restaurants in Thailand; it’s that they take service to the next level.
The Water Library is very close to the subway. I’d recommend taking the subway; and not a taxi as we know how slowly taxi’s move through the traffic.
