“Nice hotel with friendly staff”
Reviewed October 17, 2011

I came to Bangkok on October 15th., 2011 and left on October 18th., 2011. Was supposed to stay for one week but decided to leave early as the weather has been lousy- lot of rain. The hotel is situated very much inside from the main Sukhumvit road but the hotel provides transportation in a Tuk Tuk both ways to the main street and from main street to hotel. Staff is friendly and everytime they see you they greet you very nicely.

I only had breakfast at the hotel and it was very nice with good selection of fresh fruit and juices. Breakfast room staff were very friendly and came by every now and then to ask if you needed anything and brought it quickly. I would definitely recommend the hotel as it is away from the hustle and bustle of Sukhumvit street and the noise of the traffic.

Staying at Ramada Hotel and Suites has made our experience in Bangkok a great one. My friend and I stayed for 5 nights in total and first thing I would comment on is the staff simply cannot do enough to help you. With recommendations for tours, restaurants, shops, pubs and even free entry to some of top bars such as Qbar and Insomnia (formally ministry of sound which is just at the end of the road).
When first arriving you're greeted with smiles, warm welcomes and a delicious lemongrass drink which I had to get the name of!
Our standard room was modest but functional in every way we needed for our stay. Views from the large hotel window were brilliant (especially with a lightning storm we watched in our first week in Bangkok).
Breakfast is included in the room rate and it's a nice spread of Thai, English and French tastes. Pool and gym facilities are available until 10pm (quite late!) which we used them occasionally.
The pool has giant beds around it suspended on chains which were nice to relax on, and it's housed within a nice secluded garden which felt like an oasis in Bangkok.
If booked in advance you can get a great rate on a standard room and you'll be located in the midst of Sukhumvit - an excellent location to try Cabbages & Condoms restaurants. Two massage studios are on the same strip from Ramada to main road which is do handy when you've been out all day!
All in all, very pleased to have stayed here at this end of town!

As far as hotel rates go in Thailand, this hotel, in my opinion, is over priced. I have stayed at Ramada hotels worldwide and this is not one of their best. I paid just over £50 (2500B) a night and it was worth no more.

Rooms are ok, Staff are second to none, brilliant helpful and friendly staff. They are a credit to the hotel.

Mini bar and food all seriously over priced considering normal Thai prices. Rip off. The nearest 7 is at the top of the soi and a real pain carrying stuff back. So they have a captive audience for the in room mini bar!

Great little tuk tuk ride to the top of the soi but a royal pain in the butt getting back home.

Would I stay again? No. Just a bit off the beaten track and I don't think value for money.

A lovely clean hotel and as I have said, brilliant staff.

I stayed a few nights and all was great; great room, friendly and efficient service, located in a quiet area yet very central. All this for a very reasonable price! I highly recommend this hotel for a stay in Bangkok!

We have just stayed for 3 months in this hotel during our move to Thailand and can say it is THE best hotel we have ever stayed in. Since we stayed for such a long time, we had the chance to see the hotel at it's best and it's worst, however the 'worst' NEVER happened.

It's located right next to Asoke BTS and to walk from the BTS to the hotel reception takes about 8 minutes. However, if you ring for the TukTuk from the end of the Soi, you get from the BTS to the hotel in 5 mins max. It's free and they'll take you up and down the soi any time between 6am and 12pm (although we did ask nicely at 2am once and they came and got us - but that's because the staff are amazing!) The reviews which say the Soi is dark and dangerous are utter rubbish...every 100m there is another street stall, restaurant or small shop so you're never far from other people. It's so nice because once you're halfway down the Soi you can't hear the Bangkok noise at all!

We had an Executive suite which looked out onto Benjakiti Park and lake which was just amazing to wake up to every morning. The bed is super King size and ever so comfy as were the pillows - we never had a bad nights sleep. The air con is a little wild/strong so do what we did and turn the living room AC on, but pull the sliding doors halfway across and it's perfect!

Wifi is available in the rooms and throughout the entire hotel...you can even get a tiny signal by the pool which is good. The rain drench shower heads are uber-refreshing in the mornings and lighting in the room was just right. Kitchen included hob, microwave, toaster and kettle which we managed to make a 3 course dinner with, on more than one occasion! You have a big flat screen TV in the front room and then one in the bedroom, both of which you can connect your laptop too (you can buy the cable in BKK for about £1.50).

The staff at the hotel absolutely make this place though. They helped us with our Thai language, told us amazing places to eat at and things to do and were so calm and helpful when we had a medical problem. As well as the front-of-house staff, the housekeeping team work extremely hard to keep the place 'spick and span'. When we left, we really felt like we were leaving friends.

This hotel is perfect for you if you like friendly/helpful staff, NEED a comfy bed, want free wifi, be in an amazing location that's far enough away from the noise and pollution but only a 5 minute walk to Sukhumvit, enjoy eating delicious international reasonably priced food and like to have the ability to relax in the garden and pool area.

Such a long review but really want to say a massive thank you to the hotel staff for making our stay so memorable and enjoyable. Khun Johnathan and Khun Jerry :-)

Room Tip: Ask if you can have a room looking out over Benjakiti Park...put the front desk telephone number in...

We chose this hotel because of its previous reviews, and proximity to Bumrungrad ... and we have not been disappointed! Staff are courteous and helpful. The small shuttle back along the alley to Sukhumvit is a great addition, and free. The pool has been really fun - particularly enjoyed by our 8 year old son. We will be coming back to this hotel!

This is a nice property tucked right in the center of a busy city. The nearest MRT is a just a few steps away and the hotel also provides free tuk-tuk drop/pick-up to the main road. The property itself is very nicely planned and rooms are clean and modern. The staff was always prompt and ready to help. The legendary "Cabbage and Condoms" restaurant is within 50 meters of the property.
We really enjoyed our stay and would recommend it to anyone looking for a modern yet cost effective accommodation in Bangkok.
Oh btw...the food in the restaurant/room service was delicious.
