Was staying at this hotel alone for a few days during the Songkran festival of 2013. A total of almost 30 different traveler from all around the world met up here for the 2nd time in a row for the Songkran festival. The greatest point about this hotel is the location, it is very near the heart of the party of Bangkok; Khao San Road, not more than a breezy 15 minutes walk. I took the new air-conditioned deluxe room which is in the new block. The air conditioner is new and gets very cold very fast; which is a very good thing in Bangkok. The bed is huge and comes with a flat screen TV. The bathroom is roomy and have good water pressure. The restaurant downstairs serve rather good breakfast for about 100 Baht. Another good point that most people may miss is the rooftop of the hotel, it provides an excellent view of the Chao Phraya River and some part of the city.

Room Tip: The air-conditioned deluxe rooms in the new block are great.

Me and my partner stayed here in a twin room (asked for double) with shared bathroom facilities at the end of January. Not bad price but can't stay we will be rushing back. Rooms were very basic, ours absolutely stinks of smoke (206 I think). Beds and bedding very old. Whole place had a prison like feel to it. On the plus side, bathroom facilities were clean, and we did see some of the 'deluxe' accommodation past reception which looked much better.
Overall, can't say I will return. There's cheaper and much nicer just one street away.

I stayed in this hotel for 3 nights. The first 2 nights I could not sleep because of the noise in the corridors. The staff did not bother saying something to the drunk guys.
Positive things: very large rooms, which is pleasant. Very clean and the bathroom too. A large open area to chill out and eat.
It is very close to the backpacker area so if you want to spend time in this area it could be great. But if you want to avoid backpackers, don't go to this place!

We stayed 4 nights in a double room with fan. The room was surprisingly big. It was clean and suited our needs. It was pretty hard to find a shower with hot water (there seemed to be one to a floor). Didn't have much interaction with the staff but they seemed nice enough. Nothing special but it was fine as a place to sleep.

It is located away from Khao San Road so less noisy. It was around a 10-15 minute walk away.

The room was bigger than I expected and the air conditioning worked a treat. It was clean enough, but not as clean as it could have been.

The toilets and showers were separate to the room. They could have been cleaned more regularly and the toilet paper needed replacing more frequently than it was as it kept running out.

The staff were helpful but could have provided us with some information about the area. We did speak to the girl in reception but she was also the travel agent so the conversation was aimed at getting us to pay money for trips.

In reception there were computers with Internet which was a nice added extra.

Overall for the price the stay was fine. Cheaper can be found but I doubt the room would have been as big.

Can't fault the hostel. Perfectly clean, unexpected view from a Bangkok stay, plasma TV. First place we stayed in Thailand so was nice to have a bit of comfort. It only cost £7 a night per person however we soon learnt that for Thailand this was expensive and was quite luxurious as we were backpackers on a budget. Not far from the central Khao San Road however on our second visit to Bangkok we stayed on the road itself as for us we preferred to be where the action was even if it did mean harder beds and no TV.
