“Very comfortable”
Reviewed April 4, 2012

Beautiful, clean and new hotel. Standard rooms are a good size and very comfortable and the one bedrooms are really big and self contained (kitchens and laundry in apartment). The Restaurant food is average and closes very early (last order around 7.30pm). Free Tuk Tuk to sky rail was not available everyday. There is a clean and basic gym with a view however the pool was not clean enough to swim in (murky greenish color)

Pros: Clean, comfortable, friendly staff, self service laundrette
Cons: limited hours and food at restaurant and no food nearby, limited free tuk tuk

Happy travels!

we were staying there in the end of february with some friends and we loved it!! fantastic place, very clean, beautifull apartments, make you feel like in home!! swimming pool on the roof was great asset to all that. very good location, close to Sathorn pier , where you can get boat to all main turist destinations, and its cheap. Also on main street, 10min walk you have sky train. we used it to get to bus station, while going with our baggage and it was easy.

Good little spot, good location! Amazing pool and views (especially of robot building)!

Staff always friendly and tried to be helpful, though most had limited English. Short walk to Sarusak station, though never enough staff available to take us in the free shuttle tuk tuk!

Good street food nearby, take the next street on the left after walking out, plenty of life down there. Handy to 7/11 for those shy of street food.

Nice neighborhood with a big school, everyone was quite friendly and no touts etc Will be using it in the future, no worries!

If I ever go back to BKK Sathorn Grace Serviced Residence (SGSR) will be the FIRST place I try to book. Booked 1 bdrm Executive Suite, not keen about "hotel room". The suite is bigger than anything similar I have used in Australia & at least equal in every regard to Aus$200-400p/n in Melbourne, Sydney, Surfers Paradise & Perth. 2 x 32" LCD TV's, lge living area & lge bdrm (with king bed), Lge bathroom with big bath & seperate shower cubicle (rare in Asia). DVD which can be put in either room. Two separate A/C's. L shaped lounge suite for about 6, dining table for 4. Double hotplate, microwave, kitchen sink, Saucepan, frypan, some/enough cooking utensils (no can opener or bottle opener??), crockery & cutlery for 2, toaster, elect. kettle, full size fridge, front loading washing machine w/spin dry function (all 1st class electrical equip). Fantastic rooftop pool, his/hers sauna, FULL gym. 7/11's EVERYWHERE, one 30m from SGSR. 15 min walk to Surasek Skytrain Station, or free hotel tuk tuk every 2 hours for most of day (except Mon?) between 0700 to 1900hrs (?). Countless tuk tuks/taxis passing up & down Sathorn Soi 11 anyhow. (Just make sure tuk tuk fare is negotiated before trip & tell Taxi driver to turn meter on, or get out...you WILL be gouged & confrontation is very bad form for visitors). SGSR staff are excellent in every way, & do their very best to assist in any way they can; but very little English spoken anywhere in BKK in my experience. Staff are happy to advise on expected taxi fares anywhere, & order them for you. Being very pedantic about what I would like added to SGSR package. 1 (because i stay in at night) maybe not enough English language cable (Nat Geo, Fox movies, Fox drama/humour, BBC World News), 2 no tea bags, only 2/3 coffee satchels + whitener daily. BKK milk is fine, bottled water as cheap as (1/10 of Aust.) at 7/11's (+ 2 600ml free daily). Internet sucks (free use @ SGSR), probably because it is permanently overloaded. SGSR Restaurant is fine & very reasonable prices on large menu (mostly Thai cuisine, naturally), can get room service. Travel tips: A. Eating; St Louis Cafe (200m from SGSR towards Sathorn Rd on left) has great coffee & Thai/European menu run by young expat French chef. B; Eating & Shopping: MBK (Mahboonkrong) Shopping Mall (@ Skytrain National Stadium platform, 15/20 mins from Surasek) is best priced (nearby Paragon & Siam Centre a bit more "Myer/David Jones" prices), MBK also has 2 "eating" floors (5th floor (?) more like separate restaurants & dearer than 6th (?) which is openplan foodhall with 50+ (?) stalls, 10/15 cuisines (some Halal on both floors) to choose from. The "cheap" foodhall also has 100's of typical "souvenir" stuff..tshirts, shoes, jewellery, electricals, DVD's, electronic games, IPod's. mobile 'phones, etc, etc, etc. on same floor. C; Shopping/life experience; try Chatuchak (JJ) weekend market (0900-1900hrs? Sat/Sun) worth a look, just be prepared for MCG footy crowd numbers (maybe take a Valium 1st Ha! Ha!). D. Experience a Chao Praya River Tourist boat (blue flag) trip, Amplified commentary throughout (150bht all day ticket; go back & forth, get off & on as you please, come back in arvo & do it again, #5 Chinatown, just wonderful...& COOL). Tip for newbees like me; ignore all travel book street maps. USELESS!

Room Tip: 1 bdrm Executive Suite worth every cent of the Aus $15 p/n (?) extra

stayed in bangkok twice, on route elsewhere, came back to the sathorn, thought the staff were always pleasant and helpful, food was nice, we're approx 50 and the skytrain was a short walk down the road, the pool was the selling point for us with a great view of the city

I just came back from bkk, and i cant wait to write this review :D I had good time in The Sathorn Grace Serviced Residence !!

The room is big and clean , furnitures are new ! With free Wifi in every single room in the hotel! The most important thing is that the staff there really promote great service , friendly and care customers.

The lady in counter give the internet password twice (we lost once haha) , very polite. Me and my boyfriend set the wrong password for electrical safe , the technician came twice in one day , 5 pm and 1 am ! The guard arranged cab (using meter) for us , very helpful! And the free tuk tuk service to bts is all time available .

Outside the hotel have one 7-11 , and turn right will be school and residence ! This area is quite in night. Walk 5 mins to another soi , there are street foods there.
To BTS is walking distance 10 mins time .

*** and OMG i love the swimming pool there *** have good city view !

I only stayed 2 days in sathorn grace and moved to baiyoke sky hotel ! But im seriously regret i booked baiyoke sky hotel for another 2 nights , i miss sathorn grace !! I think i will be back again in the future ^^

Ps. those ppl gave bad comments , plz don't be so choosy with this price u cant find anything fancy as 5 - 4 star hotel,

Room Tip: Can check for the upgrade to deluxe suite :) only need to add 500 bth / per night !

The rooms are bigger than average, but the property is only a few year old and is modern and pretty clean.

Under new management, the quality has been restored. Towels are clean, Internet is free, and the elevators work again. The new management clearly "gets it."

The hotel is a great value overall.

The rooftop pool is wonderful and a feature not found on comparably priced properties.

The only downside is that it is a 15 minute walk to Skytrain. But TukTuks and Taxis are readily available and for $3 you can get pretty much anywhere in town with one.
