“Amazing buffet breakfast!”
Reviewed April 3, 2012

Very spacious and well equipped 2 bedroom apartment for a bargain. Buffet breakfast has to be one of the best I've ever had, extensive selection and good tasting food. Location may seem to be not in the middle of the hustle and bustle where everything is 'happening' but the BRT station right on the the doorstep and the free hourly shuttle to the BTS station solves that problem! Once you get to one of these stations you can literally get to any part of Bangkok.

Room Tip: 2 bedroom apartments are the most spacious rooms you've ever seen.

we actually booked a family room for 4 persons - what a nice surprise the room was, spacious living and dining room with integrated kitchen and 2 bedrooms with 2 bath.
Very nice swimming pool and a dream of breakfast being served.
We had dinner one night with the buffet - and quality was very good.
public transport and taxi service very close.
After touring Bangkok - an oasis to relax.

Paid £100 for 2 nights with breakfast. The room was well sized and had an amazing selection of tv channels (over 70). The room was extremely hot when we entered and the toilet had a bit of fluff lying about as well as a torn towel ( which was changed on the second night)

Breakfast was very busy and the selection was enough for most people's liking.

Internet was free in the lobby, restaurants and near the pool. There's also a small kids play area to keep the little ones busy.

It's a 15 minute walk to the BTS or right opposite the bus station. The shuttle was useless as it leaves whenever it wants, and the last one is at 5pm. The road near the hotel is very busy so it's quicker to walk.

The staff were very friendly and helpful, although felt that the hotel tries to sell tours, spa treatments and extras.

Stay here if you get a good prove

Having lived in Thailand for many years, and staying in many different hotels in Bangkok, I am still puzzling over what my overall feeling is about this Anantara hotel? The staff were all very pleasant, the room OK, but the ceilings were quite low, which made for a slightly claustrophobic feeling. I paid extra to use the executive lounge near the top of the building - this was their crowning jewel ! The 'nibbles' from 6pm to 8pm were delicious, and so was the wine. The outside verandahs are lovely, with magnificent views of Bangkok. The staff in this lounge were 1st class, and are a credit to the Anantara, what a shame guest's standard of dress are not the same! The hotel ask for smart casual dress, in this part of the hotel, but, as with just about everywhere in the world these days , people refuse to follow rules, and inflict on others their untidy and scruffy appearance. As I say time and time again, it is the "me, me me society". No consideration of anyone else, or how others might feel about their behaviour and dress. I will get off my 'band wagon' and return to the general hotel. It seems 'messy', with lots of corridors to get to the pool area, and further corridors to the fitness and spa. This is probably because of the fact that there are 2 towers. Unfortunately, I didn't get to sample the buffet breakfast, but, if it was as good as the food I had in the evening, it will be good. Overall, the hotel just lacks 'something' but I don't know what? Apart from the friendly, helpful and very pleasant staff, it just seems souless, but the low price charged for a room, almost makes one turn a blind eye to all of my above criticism. What city in the world, but Bangkok, do you get such value for your money?

We stayed in a 2 bedroom suite that was large and modern and well appointed except that things like shower knobs didn't work well, there really weren't any dishes in the kitchenette, and the elevators were slowwww. Overall it was OK but when we were checking out were shocked to discover we'd been charge $150 for laundry that would cost less than $15 at any local cleaner in Bangkok. It's not like the amounts weren't listed on the laundry tag - it's just that we didn't bother looking closely. I expect to be fleeced for things like this at hotels but that was just outrageous.

We stayed 3 Nights at the Anantara Sathorn Hotel in a double deluxe room. On arrival we were shown through to a twin room. On asking for a double we were then moved to another room within about 30 minutes. The rooms were spacious, clean and modern. The balcony had great views of the city. They had a lounge, dining and kitchenette with microwave. The included breakfast each day was delicious for buffet standards. Good choice, kept hot and great variety. We ordered room service one evening and it was delivered promptly and was tasty. The swimming pool area and gym are pleasant and the bars are well decorated. There is wifi in the room (additional cost) This seemed to log out quite frequently but did work okay. Location wise it is near local bars and restaurants. A 10 minute walk to the train has you into the heart of Bangkok within 10 minutes. Taxis are cheap by meter and hotel staff are more than happy to call them for you. On asking for restaurant reservations the concierge was more than helpful offering suggestions. Overall this is a great hotel to stay in and fabulous value for money considering what we paid for it.

we stayed in a 2-bedroom suite and it was a very nice experience... very safe and friendly place, we were in good hands... nice view of the city when you are at the 27th floor... good breakfast selection... prompt room service... very supporting staff and they are always around when you need then... my only complaint is that the cleanliness could be better... the vacuuming and dusting can use an extra care... this is the place to stay in bangkok if you are a family...
