Anantara Sathorn Bangkok Hotel

We had a good stay at the Anantara in July 2011, a family with two teenage children in a 2 bedroom suite. The suite was fantastic, claen and spacious, and excellent value for the room. The location however didn't work so well. It is too far to walk to the skytrain in the heat of day without overheating, and the day time cab ride to the typical 'tourist' destinations was up to 40 minutes. So it wasn't practical to use the hotel as a base for exploring the city. Next time we'll spend a little more to be more central.

We stayed there from 5 th June to 9th June2011.
Great welcome, upgraded to a very big 2 bedromm suite with every comfort you dream about.Comfy bed, bathtub with overlooking nathiriwat rd,kitchen,2 flat tv,free wifi,2 bath, great balcony with fabelous overlooking view to bangkok.
Breakfast fantastic, tasty sweets,a great choice of differnt style eggs, fresh and dry fruits,
cakes,bread,sausages,good coffee,etc...TOP!!
Staff always very very friendly and helpful--thank you.
Location is a one minute walk to BRT Sathorn(bus line),than you drive one station to chong nonsi and change into the BTS lines(skytrain) to discover bangkok.
Big swimmingpool--a little bit too cold for us--,nice surroundings with a lot of sunchairs,
great gym with nice staff, top sauna.
So, we come back next year.

Could not find anything to complain against as it was 5* all the way. The service from staff, The free wifi, the decor, lovely rooms, great gym and pool.. Only thing is that it wasn't so central- if you stay around nana- phrom pong you're smack bang on sukhumvit so can go for a stroll at 3am and the street will still be buzzing! That being said, it still is just 15 min walk to the skytrain. They Also have anantara in other Thai cities, so if you go travelling do check them out!

It was like heaven, I had never been so amazed by such beauty. Approaching the hotel, I was galvanised by the perfectly harmonious flow in every element, from sumptuous silks on the walls and rich wooden flooring, including dazzling lamps and glass art pieces, and soft arc lights that emphasize the luxurious design elements.

The rooms were extremely spacious (double bed room), they were complemented with excellent service from the staff and the electronics provided in the rooms.
Breakfast was overwhelming but needed a larger range of consumer preferences. Moreover, the restaurant provided excellent food regardless of the price - the soft shell crab salad and foie gras are the best!!

5 minute walk to the BTS and situated with the BRT (bus connection)- so very ideal and a perfect location.

Strongly recommend this hotel, one of the best I have ever been to and trust me, I have been to the Mandarin Oriental, Kempinski and Peninsula - and Ananthara is definitely my favourite...it is a lot cheaper, excellent service, very spacious, private and a future 6 star hotel.

The Anantara exceeded all my expectations. The hotel is not very close to the BTS/metro (10-15 min walk, but with the heat, that's not great), but it was very easy to take a quick (3 min) taxi to the station. Apart from this, the hotel is superlative. The reception staff were wonderful, and greeted you with a sincere welcome. They were very helpful, going out of their way to write helpful phrases in Thai and to accommodate small requests. I was upgraded to a suite with incredible views and the very thoughtful room service made sure nothing was ever out of step. The internet connection in the room through the tv was especially convenient. The bathroom with a soaking tub and view of Bangkok was spa-like. The decor is clean, modern, and serene. I'd never stayed in an Anantara before, but next time I travel in Asia I am sure to keep this chain in mind as a top choice.

The Anantara Sathorn was a modern, clean, & beautiful hotel. The staff was extremely accommodating and always willing to help in any way. My room was amazing. Two flat screen tvs, living room, kitchenette with dining room table, and bedroom. The bathroom was huge, with a large bathtub and wonderful steam shower.

I am from the US, so I arrived at around 1am. Staff was great at check-in. At the end of my stay, I had to depart the hotel at around 2am for a flight at 5am. Check-out was smooth.

Throughout my stay, staff was great about arranging/calling a cab for me. The only downfall of this hotel is that the train system isn't close. You have to walk or take a cab. Cabs are really cheap, so it wasn't a big deal.
