We were traveling through Bangkok on our one month honeymoon throughout Asia, and decided to stay four nights here at the BLI. It's nice to be picked at the airport upon our arrival, since the hotel is about an hour away.
Check-in was standard of any Asian hotel (by providing your passport), and service delivery of our bags was great since we had lots of bags and the elevator here is small. Overall, hotel is very clean with a presentable lobby.
Room is small, but had enough space for all our luggage. The staff knew it was our honeymoon and took the extra step to decorate our beds. Thank you! Noise level was moderate since we faced the main street, but we drowned it out with the air conditioning unit. TV had good reception and bathroom was small but clean.
Location didn't appear great at first, but turned out to be just fine! Although it's two blocks away from the train, we took a cab everywhere since it was just as cheap. The exchange rate is amazing in Thailand, so taking a cab anywhere is between $5-$10.
Breakfast is fantastic at this hotel, and I admit it was the best we had all month travelling throughout Asia. Don't expect anything fancy, but the simplicity in quality of local fruits is what made it authentic and beautiful. If you stay here longer then 4 days, you may get bored of the selection.
I recommend walking right when you exit the hotel, there are lots of street vendors 10 minutes away which you can't see from the front doors. The hotel offers a private taxi for the day ($1000 bahts) to Damnoen Saduak Floating Market, about 100 kilometers southwest of Bangkok. This buzzing market is at its best in the early morning before the crowds arrive and the heat of the day builds up. It was our favorite destination all month... HINT: Bring lots of cash and prepare to bargain! This is where we found the best deals for souvenirs throughout Asia.
Have fun my friends, Thailand is a beautiful country with great people.
