Simply put, Bangkok Patio is the best serviced apartment I've stayed in anywhere in Bangkok. The rooms are quiet, comfortable, spacious and immaculately clean. The service is incredible. And the location is refreshingly authentic: removed from the tourist circuses of Silom and Sukhumvit, but only a short tuktuk or skytrain ride to the center of the action. Business travelers like myself will appreciate some additional amenities, including individual high-speed wireless routers in each room and free use of the hotel's washing machines and driers, that you'll rarely find elsewhere and which make life much more efficient on a day-to-day basis.
Overall, I recommend this place for long-stay business and leisure travelers who have a little Bangkok experience. Short-term and newbie tourists, by contrast, might find the area challenging: shopping and spa services in the area are limited, and as far as I can tell, there isn't a single bona fide travel agent in the immediate vicinity (although reception can help with booking of a narrow range of services). Basically, this place is really designed much more as an apartment for long-term expats, families and business travelers, not as a landing pad for tourists, and especially those that are coming to party. It works much better as a home than as a hotel.More
