If you haven't been to Na Aroon you have missed one of the best vegetarian restaurants in Bangkok! You take the Skytrain to Nana and walk towards Siam Paragon centre. Just make sure that the side streets of Sukhumvit count down... SOI 5, 3, 1. If they count down or up the even numbers you have to cross the road by one of the bridges.
Walk right to the end of SOI 1 and you will find a leafy green bijou hotel on the left. Walk straight in to the restaurant and choose to eat inside or out. If you eat outside a mosquito spray is provided and fans to keep them away!
The outside restaurant is a welcome haven, next to the hotel pool and surrounded by greenery. The waiting staff are extremely efficient and competent and all seem to be able to speak English. Their welcome is excellent and the owner patrols and engages in conversation freely.
The menu takes some time to peruse but has a large choice of vegetarian and fish dishes., mainly Thai, doing some homework might save you making an unsuitable choice like we did.
Overall a place with a delicious menu and a very friendly and beautiful ambience.
The prices are much lower than UK but quite expensive by local standards. A good feed would cost about 2000 Bhat or roughly 40 GBP, depending on how hungry you are.
