great place!!! The cleanest hostel I've ever lived in! Trust me, I used to work for two famous hostels in China! Free but great breakfast! The hostel is a little bit far from the BTS station, which is kind of annoying if you should walk 15 minutes in a hot day, but the street where it locate is amazing. The staff also can book a taxi for you if you wanna go to the airport, but I think it is better if the hostel could arrange the guests in the same taxi to help us to save money. Plus, I wish the reception could smile often. ;-) Anyway, great place to stay in.More

Hostel clean and good location
I liked this hostel very much. it is clean and very well organized. Beds are comfortable. Bathrooms are cleaned up constantly. Breakfast is ok. Regarding location, although it is a bit distant from main local attractions - most temples and Kao San road - it is located just a few meters away from an avenue where you can easily take a bus to go to the old city. On the other hand, it's pretty close to Chatuchak Market (weekend market) and a BTS station (which makes it convenient to go to Northern Bus Terminal o train station you can you want to do day trips as I did).

A Good Hostel in a Great Location
This was our second stay at Udee on this trip. It's a great hostel in a quiet backstreet of Bangkok. Despite other reviews we found it close to the attractions which can be reached by bus. It's close to Don Meung airport and bus station. Main airport is 400baht and takes 30-45minutes by taxi. Also close to skytrain (15min walk). The rooms are a good size, with comfy beds, very clean. Good showers with loads of hot water. Good do it yourself breakfast. Very knowledgable and helpful staff.
This is a good, clean, well run hostel. You can easily get to the main attractions and other locations around the city by bus or Tuk Tuk. TThere is great street food on Pradiphat Road 200m away. Good value

Very good hostel in the middle of nowhere
The hostel was built for this purpose from ground up and that' fantastic. Every inch of available space is maximised and it still feels airy, like an oasis in the middle of the agitated Bangkok.

The problem is ... Udee Hostel is not in the middle of what's actualy important in the capital of Thailand. And that's a shame. There's a fast connection to downtown with the airtrain ... That in itself is preety cool.

Breakfast needs a liitle bit of creativity if you want to stay here 4-7 days, but they compensate by selling beer and soda at very low prices. There's a washing machine on the roof and you can sip some Sprite while your clothes get refreshed.

Near the hostel there are some small restaurants with tables in the garden and the food there is very good. You just have to open your eyes!

Everything means money for Udee. Disappointed!
If you book a taxi to the airort by Udee, you need to pay double the price. If you want to take a shower before check in time, no way, or you need to pay another 200 bucks per person. If you want to leave the package to Udee for several days, you need to pay 50 bucks per day. Everything means money for Udee. Disappointed!

Fantastic hostel, shame about the location
Udee Bangkok is a great hostel - although you won't like it if you want to really be in the heart of the city.

Our double room was nicely decorated, clean, modern and the bed was comfortable. The wifi was super-speedy and the staff were always friendly and helpful.

The breakfast is self-service - find some bread in the kitchen and make some toast. But refreshingly it is included - and not an extra 100baht a day that so many hostels make it.

Unfortunately Udee Bangkok is in a bit of a nothing area of the city. There's nowhere really to eat nearby aside from a shopping centre which has drab but very cheap dishes. The sky train is only a 10-minute walk away and an efficient service. However, the network is not connected to the whole city - and won't, for instance, take you anywhere near the Khao San Road. You can get there on the bus though.

If you don't mind this, Udee Bangkok is great. The basement bar area with a television is pleasant and the roof garden is very nice. If you want to relax here with a drink it is the perfect place - and the hostel sell beers for a price almost as low as the 7-11. With cheap beer so close to home we happily did without a decent bar nearby.

Udee Bangkok sent us an email asking us to review them so they know how they can improve. We clearly haven't helped as I can't make any real suggestions - the hostel is great, but it's a bit out of the way.
