“Great location”
Reviewed June 23, 2014

The hotel is located in a really great area, honestly!
We were first lost and having trouble finding it. After leaving the airport, we took the airport line, and get off the train line at Ratchaprarop station, and accidentally we need to walk through the water-gate market in a hot and humid weather. Later, we realize it was a lot easier if we transfer at Phaya Thai station and transit to Chitlom. It is only 1-2 mins walk from the chitlom station.
The service was great and the staffs were being really nice. They helped out making lots of restaurants reservations for us, and even prepare a birthday cake in our room.
It is a nice hotel choice in BKK, especially the location! strongly recommended. You really want to live right next to the station, believe me!

The Renaissance Hotel in Bangkok is a hotel that I come back to almost every time I visit Bangkok. This is an excellent hotel in the heart of the city and some of the most professional hotel staff I have ever encountered work here. The hotel sits just across the parking lot from the Chit Lom BTS (SkyTrain) station so it is very conveniently located as you can access most of the city from the BTS. Taxis do take a few minutes to arrive at the hotel, so if you are going to the airport or somewhere that arrival time is important, be sure to give yourself a few extra minutes if departing from the hotel lobby.

I’ve had all positive experiences when staying at Renaissance hotels, though the overall experience differs from one hotel to the next. This hotel has a very nice breakfast buffet at their restaurant on the second level. I did not try any other meals at the hotel restaurants, but I presume they are of good quality as well. If you are a member of the hotel loyalty program, the food and drinks at the lounge are quite nice. One benefit this hotel provides that not all others do is the free daily laundry (only one piece per day of your stay, but it still saves some money) and a complimentary 15-minute head and neck massage.

Overall, I had a very good experience, again, while staying at this hotel. My suggestion to them would be the same as most other hotels - to serve better coffee with the breakfast (not sure why so many places seem to serve terrible coffee with a good breakfast buffet). They could also try to work on a way to get the taxis to the hotel quicker as there are an abundance of them in Bangkok and the hotel is right in the middle of everything. Aside from that, the hotel has great ambience, the rooms are very clean, beds are comfortable, the gym, pool, and spa are very nice, and the staff are exceptionally friendly.

I had to stay long term in Bangkok and was lucky enough to stay in this hotel. All the staff were very professional and helpful. The room was interestingly designed with a glassed in bathroom, very upscale. I also recommend the Chinese restaurant Fei Ya in the restaurant. It is rated as one of the best restaurants in Thailand and deservingly so.

I stayed at the Renaissance Bangkok from June 2, 2014 through June 12, 2014. My visit to Bangkok was during the very difficult period of Marshal law. The Hotel staff were excellent during my entire stay in Bangkok. The doorman, front desk, staff, restaurant, lounge and housekeeping were all very professional, friendly, cheerful and helpful during my entire stay.

The food and accommodations were also excellent. I highly recommend this Hotel.

Special thanks to Buakaew, Thida, Rahana and Channyap!!!

Thank you,

Frank

We stayed at this hotel for 5 nights - it was the best decision we have ever made, since it was our first time in Bangkok. The hotel staff are very friendly, the room was perfect, great restaurant and buffet breakfast. What more can one want?

Be sure to visit the buffet breakfast at Flavors - food was fantastic!

Great price for a glamorous and classy hotel - thank you Renaissance.

I have stayed at this hotel on and off for extended periods since November of 2013. I have to say i have always had great service from very helpful staff.
Rooms are good size and well equiped; fast internet; good size tv with plenty of channels.
Room service is good and pretty quick; never got an order wrong.
Laundry is expensive as per most high star hotels but at least its quick and never lost or destroyed anything ,gets a thumbs up from me.
Good gym and nice long lap pool.
Position is good for Embassy visits and shopping plus good MTR connection.
Loads of safe parking for those who drive own vehicles.
Nice hotel; know i will stay there again soon.

Stayed 2 nights on our way to Koh Samui. Even though the hotel does not enjoy river views, it is conveniently located at the city centre surrounded by shopping malls. From the hotel you can walk to the Siam square, you need however a taxi to go to the Grand Palace, the Reclining Buddha etc. Taxis are however easy to find and cheap. The hotel staff were fantastic. By paying breakfast for 2 days, we were upgraded to a corner suite (offer available to Marriot reward card holders). It was absolutely fantastic! Vary spacious with a bath next to a huge window, electronic blinds, big walk in shower and 180 degrees views. All very modern and newly refurbished. Breakfast was very rich and had anything you could wish for.
I do not regret not staying at a hotel overlooking the river as the views may be nice in the evening but the river is ditry and noisy during the day. If I ever go back to Bangkok, I would stay at the same hotel.
We spend the fisrt afternoon around the hotel, Siam square and the malls of the area. In the evening we had dinner at Breeze. This is a restaurant at the hotel where Hangover II was filmed. The actual place on the 63rd flooor (Lebua) was fully booked so we chose Breeze on the 42nd with the help of the hotel staff and had a drink later at the Sky Bar on the 63rd. Highly reccomended if you want a special dinner. With breathtaking views, excellent food and outstanding service, there is nothing that we did not like.
If you only have limited time in Bnagkok, like we did, make sure you visit the Grand Palace, the Reclining Buddha, cross the river to Wat Arun and then take a boat trip. The floating market is out of the city and you need to wake up early to make it there. Do NOT take advice from anybody in the streets; there are a lot of fake helpers so be careful.

Room Tip: The corner suites are so comforrtable, you do not wish to leave the room!
