I went there with my girlfriend last Sunday(26/5/13). The place was quite empty (only 2 tables, understandable for Sunday's late afternoon) then we order the famous fried pork knuckle with potatoes & sauerkraut which was truly a "2 thumbs up". The restaurant provided 2 sauces, the mustard and the spicy Thai sauce(the muddled chili). To go with the Pork knuckle, we had a sausage salad which is "OK", nothing fancy. With 2 German beers, the Franziskaner & Krombacher, the meal was very pleasant.

Cook are thais "imitating" german food. That says it all. Plain tasting if not sometimes tasteless dishes, schnitzel rather small and pork, not veal....sausages definitely not imported from germany, sauerkraut which isnt really sauerkraut...imitations...only...closes very early, decor and atmosphere ok. Better german stuben in town.

Dear Sir

Thank you for writing a comment for us first of all why we close so early is that we are in theThai -German Cultural centre and there a Rules of the opening time in the Contracts so i would recomment you to come early and for all the Cooks sure they are thai People but that doesnt mean that they cant cook they are all well trained it doenst always have to be European Cooks and about the Schnitzel it clearly says in the menu that its not Veal its Pork and so far i know that Guests always complain that it is too much our Winerschnitzel sure for that price you cant use Veal otherwise you have to charge 500 Baht or more and for the Sausages sure its not imported from germany but where can you find imported sausages here thats from Germany all restaurant have there own Butcher ,spices sure are imported but no one is importing Sausages from Germany for the prices that we offer we never got any complained from Guests but anyway thank you for visiting us .

It is true that when you come to Bangkok, you can find all kinds of food - not just Asian but european as well. This resturant is not far from where we stay and offerred quite reasonable price.

I was there with my family ( because need to try German food in Thailand and compare how it different from what I eat in Europe ).
Restaurant and Decoration are fine. Thai style but can feeling some Europian atmostpher...maybe from the lights and smell that remembered me restaurant in Europe.
All menus we ordered are fine , taste not as what we ever eat in Europe but can say that its really interesting taste, Only one Menu was a problem because meat was soooo extreamly hard that it could be although the sauce was great. ( Rind Gulasch )
Service was ok too.
4 points I would like to give for Ratsstube.
