I loved every minute of this performance! I am surprised by the many negative comments here. It's not supposed to be avant-garde, or woke- it is campy and gloriously so. Did some of the performers not know the words? Yes, but that made it more entertaining. I loved how they gave a nod to the many countries who were in the audience. We were clueless as to what was happening with the Korean and Chinese numbers, but I presume that some in the audience appreciated that. It was also amusing to see which American songs were chosen- Frank Sinatra's still a big deal fyi.
The girls themselves are so beautiful. We scrutinized them, trying to find a hint of masculinity. Mind-boggling. One performer in particular stood out. I believe her name was Bella, and she did a solo to "Misty." She was absolutely mesmerizing, She had such stage presence that not only did you believe she was genetically female, but you believed it was her voice, the voice of an African-American woman, singing the song. She should get a pay raise.
I bought tickets online a few days in advance and ended up in the front row. I was wary based on what I read in reviews about being hustled out of money to take pictures at the end, but that didn't happen to us. The only thing I felt bad about was how lame the audience was! I have never seen anything so pathetic! They hardly clapped and no one cheered. I felt bad for the performers. Hopefully it's a cultural thing and they are used to it. This way a perfect way to end our trip to Thailand, and I enthusiastically recommend it.
