We finally got around to doing this on our last night in Bangkok. We got the staff at the hotel to reserve our seats. Glad we did this as it was sold out by the time we got there. This was for the 8.15 show. We decided to get the BTS & the free shuttle ferry. My advise is to get there earlier than we did. The shuttles start at 4.30 & it is all really well sign posted. We got to the pier about 6.45 & the queue was huge. I suspect that the locals use this service as well. We waited for about 20minutes & got to the Riverside centre at about 7.15. We were told later you can get a no 1 bus by the pier for 8BTh that goes straight to the theatre. That would have been quicker.
The area where the theatre is looks really good. Loads of little interesting looking shops & plenty of eating places. Pity we were there so late we really didn't get a chance to have a good look around. I suspect that this isn't a place to go if you are looking for a bargin.
The show was good. We found it very entertaining. It is what it is. If you go expecting a highly polished professional show then you will be disappointed. The costumes are great & the performers give 100%. They seem to be having fun & we had fun watching. As we had booked so late our seats were towards the back but still a good view. The man sitting at the front by the stairs to the stage became part of the show a few times. I think he enjoyed the attention!
Getting back was less of a hassle but we still queued to wait for the ferry but it wasn't as long.
Over all a good night out
