We had a fantastic night at the Calypso Cabaret! The songs and dances were so fun and at times really funny! Asiatique was also really neat too, we wished we had more time to explore around. Fun night!

The show is fun and you should go to have some laughs, not to expect high class performances. The dances are actually quite good, the singing is obviuosly fake. Make sure you just go for the show and not for the dinner as this is quite uninteresting and the drinks are overpriced.

Nothing has improved - avoid this like a horrible disease. We wish we had read the most recent review here on Trip Advisor before we went to this awful show. It would be better to throw your 1,200 baht into the rubbish than waste your time, money and effort going to this. I've been to a few of these and have never been so disappointed, last one was in Phuket which was excellent in every way. Whats wrong with this show? All the seats are very uncomfortable stools with hardly any padding, the complimentary whiskey tasted like finger nail polish remover, the lighting from backstage reflected off the shiny stage blinding the audience near the middle, the shiny backdrop curtain out-shined everything in front of them, the spotlight operators were hopeless, most of the performers and performances were of men dressed as men, songs mostly from the 1920's (with 1920's phonograph quality) and only a couple of contemporary songs (all badly performed), the music and singing at times was so distorted and loud you were reaching to block your ears, the lip syncing was the worst and many times ignored, the only comedy piece wasn't funny was badly performed, the costumes were , some of the "women" were downright ugly one in particular would curdle milk, some of the performances were so bad you really just wanted to get up and walk out (as many did near the end of the show) one in particular had traditionally dressed Thai dancers being mugged by motorcycle thugs with chains with weird distorted extremely loud robotic music that made no sense what so ever. There is nothing good to say about this show.

A foreign friend who was touring Bangkok wanted to see this show, so I went along. The show is mainly for tourists who have not time to see Tiffany’s. The show puts on some tributes to Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Western theaters by some ‘showgirls’. It was sooo campy, that it was funny. Lots of lipsyncing (which is understandable) and amateurish dancing. The sound system was bad though. Best to go see the real thing elsewhere, unless you are short for time.

What a sheer waste of time, energy and money…
Terrible and clumsy.
Went with my wife and though we were seated in the front row, both of us actually fell asleep, during the show; it was plain sloppy and boring-ill -fitting costumes, old hags, garish and just plain repulsive…
Do yourself a favour: avoid it like plague. You sure will thank yourself that you did not do it or will end up regretting that you did it, like me.
