This is definitely not broadway..but its quite entertaining with a dash of comedy and extravagant costume. Not suitable for kids unless u are willing to explain certain matters to them. there is a bit of sex humor and cross dressing involved. I had toddler who is too young to ask question but she seems to enjoy the dance n colorful ostume. Try to book the ticket from the tour agent..usually u get better seat this way...

Located at asiatique where u can do a bit of shopping before or after the show

“Excellent show”
Reviewed October 31, 2012 via mobile

The show is a great display of dedicated girls to their art. They put together an interesting how with a wide variety of numbers, catering to many cultures.

Watch out if your a westerner in the front row, you may be picked on!

The girls line up outside after the show and you can take your pictures with them, but have some small notes available cause they will be wanting a tip.

NOTE: The show is now located in the new Asiatique.

“Entertaining evening!”
Reviewed October 31, 2012

I was excited to go to watch this show, as I've not been to a show like this before, I went with a few friends and overall we had a fun evening.

There are a lot costume changes and most of them are good. There are some really funny parts, we thought the guy that was dressed as a lady (not a lady boy) was very funny and he did a few segments.

They don't sing, it's all pre-recorded, but to be honest I didn't expect them to sing anyway. There are a couple of pretty ones and most have figures I would die for!!

The show is actually at Asiatique, there is a free shuttle boat from Saphan Taksin. There are plenty of places to eat and drink beforehand and if you fancy shopping, there are also shops and market stalls.

I will be going to The Tiffany Show in Pattaya early next year so I'll have something to compare it to :o)

“The Best Show I've Ever Seen!”
Reviewed October 26, 2012

The first time I saw the Calypso show was in 1999. After it was over, my companion exclaimed, "That's the best show I have ever seen!" We were back the next evening with a bunch of friends in tow, and have been coming back regularly ever since.

There's quite simply nothing like the Calypso anywhere in the world. Yes, the ladyboys are gorgeous, but in addition to that, the entire production is top notch, and I do appreciate the underlying gay sensibility at work.

While some staples remain (that Hibari number is gorgeous!) there are always new numbers being added, making frequent visits ever interesting.

Great choreography as well, and some very clever ideas, such as that gender-bending "Chicago" sequence. And the finale, combining Sondheim with French music hall is nothing less than brilliant.

Happy to see the Calypso in its new home at Aisiatique; the old digs at the Asia Hotel were beginning to look a bit tattered.

All in all, along with the Joe Louis Puppet Theatre, now also at Asiatique, the Calypso is a Bangkok must. Miss it at your own peril!

“It was ok but pretty boring!”
Reviewed October 24, 2012

The show had no real story to it but then again i didnt expect it too, so many parts of this show were so boring and made me want to go, but other parts were ok and kind of funny.
The costumes were really great.
The seats were so uncomfortable i was so glad it only went for a hour or so.
I guess if you havnt been to one before it would be worth a visit, this was my first one i didnt hate it but i didnt love it either. the ladyboys that line up at the end just really want money for pics, they were not expensive for us we handed them 20baht and walked away haha!
