Kuhn Patara Sila-On has created yet another exquisitely good Thai restaurant at 375 Soi Thonglor 19, Sukhumivt 55 in Bangkok, her second here in her home town and this one close by her own home, so she does visit some evenings. With excellent restaurants already in London, Geneva, Taipei and Singapore she has now chosen an old style Bangkok mansion with wonderful decor to house her latest culinary effort. This founder of S&P restaurants, a favorite of family dining with young kids on the go has presented yet another high-end traditional Thai restaurant. They offer great food, terrific and attentive service and do charge the high-end prices that for Thai restaurants seems overly expensive. But this food is worth every baht. We loved the Larb Tao-Hu Gab Khao Tang Tod Krob (spicy tofu salad with shallots, green onions and jasmine rice crackers) and the Panaeng Pla Kapong Yang Bai Tong (sea bass char-grilled in banana leaf with panaeng curry sauce) and the satay are all delicious. And the chefs take great care with lovely presentations. Plan to relax and stay a while to enjoy the many offerings and atmosphere.
