Staff were attentive and service was prompt, although when we asked for warm water, we were given bottled one. For an establishment that has such a stylish, mouth-watering menu with prices to match, the attire of the waiters and the decor could be much improved.
Food-wise, we wondered whether we had ordered the wrong food as we didn't feel that what we ate justified the prices. We had the roasted lamb shank which, though tender, was a little dry and had only yoghurt as the dressing. The spinach with garlic didn't taste very Indian and was rather oily. The button mushrooms with spring onion were quite good. My sister and I enjoyed the Punjabi fish although my husband didn't like the powderiness of the curry on it, but he enjoyed his curried lentil soup. The saffron rice was very good, being cooked just right with individual grains intact and with enough of the saffron aroma.
Together with mango lassi and lightly salted lassi, the whole bill, inclusive of service charge and taxes and a 10% discount which the owner, Mr Singh, had graciously promised us earlier, came to THB2,300+.
Would I return? Yes, out of curiosity to see whether it has realized more of its potential.
