“Not up to to the Thai standard I was expecting.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed April 20, 2013

Stayed for 6 nights with wife and baby. Whilst close to shopping and BTS the hotel certainly didn't live upto the reviews I read. Swimming pool was not clean or easily accessable & certainly not child friendly. Breakfast was boring after a couple of days and the place had no 'atmosphere'.
On the plus side the kitchenette was a winner.
Not sure I would go back and would next probably head back to my usual.

stayed for three nights for around £60 per night booked on-line in advance.

When we arrived we were upgraded to a junior suite which consists of a kitchen/dining/sitting room, and then a separate bedroom and bathroom. It was massive, as big as my flat in London - the biggest hotel room I have ever seen. It was on the 34th floor with excellent views overlooking the city which you can see through the floor to ceiling windows at the end of the main room and bedroom. there is also a balcony, though not for the feint hearted - its a long way down.

the room was so big it seemed a little sparely decorated, but it had two sofas, a couple of armchairs,. a dining table, two large flat screen TV's, and a massive bed. It was very clean and comfy, and had a great bathroom. Also free Wi-Fi.

The rest of the hotel is pretty good. The 'Longtable' bar on the 25th floor is a great place to sit outside and watch a sunset, the food is pretty good - on the expensive side but the portions are huge so you don't need much. its quite lively at night and people come there as a destination bar. Breakfast is served there - which is very good.

The location of the hotel is ok, its a five minute walk to the skytrain and the same to the main bars in Sukhumvit. thety are quite lively and you will see every stereotype you associate with Bangkok in the first five minutes. in case your stereotypes are different i mean ladyboys, dirty old men, and the red light element, but it is fun none the less.

Watch out for tuk tuk and taxi drivers who try to take you to gem shops, tailors, or any places that they suggest. IT WILL BE A SCAM, They get commission for taking you.

Room Tip: i think any room here would be good. they are all big, and all the rooms are above the 25th floor so...

Located a short distance (5 minutes) from the Asoke BTS and Terminal 21 on a quiet street, Sukhumvit Soi 16, made the Column very convenient. Room was very spacious for a studio. I particularly enjoyed the washer/dryer combo stack in the bathroom. Having been in BKK for 5 days before moving to the Column the W/D was needed. Room as beginning to show a little wear but not bad. Breakfast was pretty much standard fair for BKK hotels...plenty good but not outstanding. Ate a couple of meals at the Tuk La Dee diner (open 24 hours) located in the Food Land next door. Easy to pick up drinks and snacks for the room at the Food Land. All in all no real complaints.

Stayed here for 3 nights and its my first stay here.. Though I have booked a Studio room, they have upgraded me to one bed room suite, which is quite massive in size.. This hotel is on Sukhumvit Soi 16 and very close to major shopping & dining places @ Sukhumvit.. High Speed Internet was free and its quite fast!! There is a Foodland 24Hrs restaurant, right at the entrance of the hotel and was very convenient for dining and buying small eats.. Room Service Menu is quite limited but very affordable..

Used the GYM at this hotel and they have plenty of equipment..

Room had Washing Machine and a dryer, which was quite useful..

Fantastic experience, overall and will look forward to stay here during my next trip..

Nicely located, spacious apartment. The cleaning crew could have done a better job with the kitchen (forgot to empty the bin) but otherwise fine. There's also a washing machine-dryer, plus detergent if you want to wash some clothes which came handy on business trips. The breakfast was a disappointment as the quality of food is not that good.

Column Bangkok is located near Platinum mall, just less than 5 mins walk to Asok BTS station. There is a 24 hour supermarket beside the hotel which is very convenient for a midnight snack. There are also more cafes, restaurant and massage palours if you walk on towards the right of the hotel. We, a party of three, was given a room on the 32nd floor with three very comfortable beds. Ms Phattrawan Hengsomboon of the reservation department was very helpful with our room reservation. The room was big and spacious, with a kitchenette and washing machine and dryer. Staying at Column Bangkok is just like a home away from home. Will definitely come back again.

Business stay at 3D2N, no complaints save that your taxi driver has to look out really carefully as he drives in from Sukhumvit Road and onto Soi 16 - blink and you might miss it on the right side of this crowded road.

Beyond that, it's close to the exchange centre, close to new shopping mall Terminal 21, and a very reasonable distance to Asok subway station. It's also a 10 min taxi ride away from another good shopping mall, the Emporium.

The room/suite I stayed in was more apartment than hotel - lots of space for meetings, 2 toilets, 2 bedrooms, kitchenette and even a washing machine and drier, which would have been fantastic for longer trips.

Room Tip: Suites give you a nice apartment with a small kitchen and fridge, as well as washing machine and dri...
