Just had lunch there today and what a lovely surprise! Having read the reviews, I did not expect the food to be this good. I have searched all over Bangkok for pasta with true Italian flavors, and have found the best here at Le Vendome. The pomodoro & truffe spaghetti is incredible (690 Baht). It tastes exactly like spaghetti in Italy that are simple yet oozes flavor. Other dishes were equally delicious and surprisingly not too expensive. Definitely give this restaurant a try.

I am a regular customer a Le Vendome, and I have to say that I do not agree with the comment below. The service has always been great - the staff are friendly and attentive, yet not too intrusive. The food is also reasonably priced, compared to other French and Japanese restaurants in Bangkok such as Bonjour, for example. The restaurant uses very good ingredients, such as lobster, foie gras, and generous servings of truffles. The pork belly and beef cheek are particularly good. My advice is, ask the restaurant for specials of the day that are not on the menu. Roast beef and yorkshire pudding, as well as game other meat can be served on request. I would, and already have, recommended this restaurant to my friends and they have all enjoyed it.

The service was very bad. Have to ask for the drinks to be refilled every time. Ordered soup which never arrived. Worth still promotion on Amex Card was not at first honoured. When complained the bill when up before being discounted!! What a rip-off. Have to call the manager to clear things out. The food was O.K but not worth the price.

Been to this restaurant a couple of times and have never had any problems. It's tucked away at the top end of soi 31 so not easy to find if you don't know the area ( I suspect taxi drivers would also have problems).
Last time I went it was busier than usual but service was still prompt and attentive.
One thing I like about thai restaurants is generally there is no snobbishness re. dress codes. I was dressed reasonably formally as was my girlfriend but a couple of young thais (they looked about 19yrs old but, apparently, were late 20 somethings) came in wearing flip-flops. You could tell they were not poor and I am sure the flip flops were expensive but I love the fact that they could wear them and no one seemed to care. It turns out that one of the thais was Mr. Beer Singha's son and judging by the two 15million baht cars parked outside they clearly had a few bob to spare. It seems to be popular with Thai celebs as last time we were here there was a TV presenter dining. It is a very quiet restaurant and not a place where you go to be 'seen'.
From memory, meal for two with some wine was just under 6,000Bt.
