“Suites are beautiful (but bit expensive)”
Reviewed August 25, 2013

We didn't book the hotel in advance (because we saw there were still 6 standard rooms available on agoda), but when we arrived we were told the information was incorrect. We could only get the suite, which was quite expensive. We were told they preferred us booking on agoda and were given a free internet-password to stay in the lobby and book the room on the internet (Wouldn't it be cheaper for the hotel to rent the rooms without a bookingsite???!!)

Really nice suite though!! Big, comfortable beds, nice bathroom, ok view! And breakfast is great (good coffee). Would definitely recommend the suite (if you have the money)

Went 3 times in the last few months and only good things to say. Super comfortable room with wood floor, great bed and blackout curtain. Both side of building are quiet at night. Very efficient check-in or check out. Staff very nice and pro.

Second time around at this well-designed little hotel in sleepy Langsaun.

My first visit had me confined to the room for a few days with an appalling attack of eczema that something or rather triggered on route. Actually, this was a really pleasant relaxing time. It's a quiet spot with an ex-pat presence in neighboring serviced apartments but none of the rowdy bars and clubs found in other areas. I had a usb with a bunch of movies so was pleased to find their home theatre system had this option. The subwoofer had enough grunt to do justice to house music as well.

The Luxx XL is set back from the street and not immediately obvious if you are traveling by cab down Langsuan. The BTS is something of a walk in the heat and with an uneven pavement lugging luggage would be a struggle.

I was a bit dismayed arriving on my latest visit to find the room musty and hot with the aircon off. This room was bigger and showing a bit more wear and tear but very clean. The design with it's simple wood/concrete/steel aesthetic has a lot of appeal. Probably, I preferred the slightly smaller corner room of my first visit - if only as the TV was a little closer to the bed.

A large hefty wooden sliding door accessed the balcony. No furniture but quite nice in the leafy surroundings of the hotel. Not a large pool but it got some sun during the day and added to the overall chilled-out vibe of the place. The foyer had a good selection of dvds including multiple copies of Sacha Baron Cohen's Bruno.

Breakfast is quite average, but, a good idea considering there aren't exactly a lot of options in the immediate vicinity. There is a Japanese restaurant in the hotel with reasonably priced sushi and the Katsudon is a good brunch option...

There's quite a number of eateries in the area though these veer toward the linen table cloth rather than casual dining variety. A few hundred meters from Chidlom station in the Potico building is the fabulous Lemon Farm macro-biotic restaurant. Upstairs there is Milk Solid a liquid nitrogen ice creamery.

l found the Luxx XL to be a distinctly relaxing stay in Bangkok. They got the design right and this would probably get me back there again.

Nice and cozy hotel tucked along a quiet street. Loved the decor and staff were pretty nice. Especially liked the books and videos in the lobby that guests could borrow. A bit of a walk from the BTS though. Overall a lovely hotel.

Situated in area where all the most luxury hotels are, the Luxx XL feel like a small oasis in bangkok. Human dimensions for this hotel, with feng shui measures, it's why you're feel good here.

We tried simple room last year and we just try the suite. It's a nice wood concept, simply good with two bathroom, a living and a big room with large window on the city and garden.

It's a quiet place, just at 10 mn from Sky train, and a lot of nice restaurant and wine bar in the street (we recommend the french restaurant just by the pool and the korean just in front left when you leave the hotel.
So, the pool is nice and quiet, you could take music or a movie to your room after a hard working or shopping day.

Service is good, and breakfast excellent !

It's situated in what I think is an expat neighborhood, with a number of offices around which makes the area pretty quiet at night. The hotel is not particularly close to any of the train stations, the closest one being Ratchadamri, about a 10 min walk away. There's a popular bar called Wine Bridge across the road.

Rooms are spacious, with modern clean lines, big windows, a bathroom which is can be completely opened, bathtub, etc. The aromatherapy bathroom set was really a big plus.

Comes with a swimming pool if one is so inclined to take a dip. Lobby was playing ibiza chill music all day. Receptionist was a little weird as she kept communicating in mandarin even if i spoke in english all the time. Weird. Would stay there again for the rooms and decor, not so keen on the long walks to the trains and the lack of food options outside in the evening.

Room Tip: The swimming pool is on the second level.
