“Chic, simple & cheap!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2012

Stayed one night in January 2012. We got a great rate online - less than 2000 baht for the night. With that price I wasn't expecting much, but was very pleasantly surprised.

The room was clean and had everything required for a good hotel room - comfy bed, toiletries, free drinking water and free wifi. Even extras such as robes and slippers. The bathroom was bigger and better equipped than I expected; including a bath. The plumbing / taps needed a little bit of an adjustment but not a real problem.

The staff were very nice and helpful, and the whole hotel has a very cool and chic ambience. I was disappointed we actually had so little time in the hotel!

Breakfast was included and was quite good; nice fruit, decent coffee and juices. Hot breakfast option too.

I would definitely stay here again - great atmosphere, great location and even better price.

This was the best hotel we sleept at our whole trip. Great looking design, simple and nice staff. Everything was clean and nice, and it has a good location. We walked in the Lumpini Park and you can walk to the night marked of you want.

Free WiFi in the room!

The breakfast was ok, with egg and bacon, toast, cerial or fruit. Pretty good.

We got a map with lots of galleries and exhibitions witch we used a lot.

I'm going to stay there the next time I'm in Bangkok.

Stayed here for one night, on our way through Thailand.
It's a very simple, no frills hotel but has a great vibe. Loved the house music pumping at reception in the morning!
Don't bother with breakfast (western food not done that well)..the hotel is located conveniently near some great street food!
Would definitely stay here again when passing through Bangkok.

Super clean, well located at Lumpini Park / Chit Lom BTS station and with friendly and efficient staff. The pool is not for athletes but is a nice spot to wind down or bask in the sun. Rooms are well equipped with mod cons (high speed wifi, minibar, kettle, tv/dvd (library downstairs) and are quiet. If I were to improve one thing it would be the bathroom – the shower/bathtub is beautiful but splashes water all over the floor (I do not take long showers nor am I particularly ‘splashy’) – and leaks into the main room. On one occasion, I did not notice the puddle and slipped over. But that is not a showstopper and I will be returning.

If you're not into Bangkok hassle, this is the place to stay at.
Amazing spacious rooms, well designed. Great thai service. Ask for a room in the upper floors so you can enjoy the view. Free DVD and book library. A few steps for the park so it's great for morning joggers or for I morning ride with the free hotel bikes. Conveniently in a walking distance from sky train station (about 10 min). Breakfast isn't the best but OK and the pool is a bit small but since the hotel has only about 20 rooms it is going to be probably your private pool! It's worse the money they charge!

Billeted here for a month to escape the Bangkok floods, at an almost reasonable monthly rate, we were really able to scrutinize the hotel.

The lobby is tiny and tight, but just enough space to get things done nicely. The super friendly staff, make up for any shortcomings. The good music really helps lend ambiance even with the sandbags all over the place.

Poor parking, but great valet service. Scant selection of DVD's to rent, but at least they can be borrowed for free. Thank goodness that they still have clean bottled drinking water. Not much on support facilities like extension cords, power strips or adapters.

The single lift is slow and could use a facelift in a year, two at most. They use too much antiseptics and their cleaning agents smell too aggressive that it borders on the unhealthy. The staircase is also a fire exit and it is a dangerous fire trap! It is being used as a storage area for spare mattresses, towels, bed linen and cleaning supplies.

The first night we were there the power went off for an hour (00:30-01:30AM). No emergency lights, no generator, no internal phone... And when I called the reception from my cell phone - no answer! The next morning, they weren't even aware of the incident.

The rooms are nice, but everything is getting old very fast. Better maintenance and a quick re-touch would give the place a new lease on life. Lighting is dodgy at times as the switches in the rooms have a mind of their own. The free WiFi is pathetic that it is hardly worth mentioning.

The bathroom is nice, but the tub is a bit of a squeeze. The hot water is slow to start up and you end up wasting a couple of liters of water before it even starts warming up. And, the poorly designed sliding doors screening the room from the tub leak, making puddles on the nice solid timber floors.

They have a really good breakfast on the second floor, but the room service food is an embarrassment to Thai food, delivering dry and often cloying tastes after a really long wait.

What is nice about it is the scale of this boutique hotel. It has the right personalized scale without being cramped. It has a nice look and good design style, but it is fading fast and should be renovated before it becomes forgettable.

Luxx is a charming boutique accomodation by itself in the busy streets of Bangkok. Owned by a Japanese (so I heard) lady who is always at the reception counter to welcome you with a BIG warm smile when u enter through the gigantic front door of Luxx. The staffs here are all very friendly, polite and helpful. In fact, this is my 2nd stay with them in less than a year!

Hotel lobby has CDs and books free for your browsing. Hotel isn't big, but room is reasonably sized, cozy, clean & comfy beds. I MUST have beds with no foul smell like been slept on by afew sweaty people (if u can imagine what I mean by that kind of smell). No view from the rooms really, afterall it is in Lumphini, all commercial buildings. It has a rather small pool beside the morning breakfast lounge, good for relaxing poolside suntan, reading but really not for serious swimmer.

Breakfast is simple & limited selection, don't expect fantastic spread, but sufficient for a hearty good breakfast to start the day. Well last if u do not like that, just walk outside the hotel and there are nearby restaurants or streets stalls on the main street to grab other foods. Across the street there are chill out place at night which seems pretty popular (packed with cars every night). Not near to any BTS, need to walk about 15mins to the nearest BTS. If u want to get a taxi, well, it can get quite jam on that street in the day time.

Overall, I love Luxx, it is hidden among the busy city, has a tranquil appearance on the exterior and cosy interior facility. Reccomended for a stay 3-4D stay and it is priced quite reasonably.
