“It was like coming home”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 15, 2013

I am a regular visitor to Chatrium. On my last visit I had a few complaints and they took them very seriously. So I came back, this time with a group of 20. We booked river view rooms with excellent views. We were very happy. Every member of our group had nothing adverse to comment on. I was upgraded to a suit on the 28th floor with amazing views and I appreciate it very much. A special word of thanks to Chatchawan.

I will certainly return to this hotel.

Room Tip: River view rooms are highly recommended.

We stayed the Chatrium for 3 nights at the beginning of April and it was the perfect hotel for us to use as base to explore Bangkok. We were upgraded to a one bedroom suite, which was lovely. The bed was extremely comfortable and the bathroom and dressing area was fantastic. There was also a little kitchen area which we didn’t use, except for the fridge to keep drinks we brought the 7 to 11 shop attached to the hotel. The hotel did supply 2 bottles of water every day and complimentary tea and coffee in your room. We did visit the pool area one afternoon to cool off after a day sightseeing, and whilst the pool was lovely, there was not enough beds, so we had a quick dip and then left, there is space for more beds so I hope that this is something the hotel looks into. The breakfast was great and although it does seem busy the staff were helpful and happy to keep filling your tea or coffee cup! We did not eat in the restaurant as we used the hotels riverboat as it was extremely convenient and easy to use to go out in the evening as well as during the day. It arrives every 15 mins and takes you to central pier where you can buy a ticket to the Tourist Boat for 100bt where you can hop on and off the any of the Tourist Boats which run along the river and they run until about 11pm. This was a great and easy method for us to get around. I have to say that the staff at the Chatrium were always very happy to help and quickly and efficiently answered any questions we had. I would definitely stay here again if I was to return to Bangkok.

An excellent hotel. The staff were very friendly and couldn't do enough for you. We were upgraded to a suite on 32nd floor with excellent views, although the open balcony wouldn't be to everyone's taste. The restaurant was excellent value, and breakfast had every type of food you could possibly want. Peaceful riverside location, and easy to access city from dedicated boat, although a taxi is excellent value as well (Less than £2 to main train station). Lovely rooftop pool with bar

The boat only runs every half hour during the main part of the morning, whereas it is every quarter of an hour in early morning and all afternoon and evening

Room Tip: River view preferable to city view but all fine I am sure. Balconies are open even on highest floors...

This was truly a lovely place!
The rooms are impeccable, the bed fantastic and staff at the reception are friendly, English-speaking and very helpful.
The breakfast buffet is generous and so is the view from the rooms - and from the restaurant at the top floor and pool area.
This outdoor area is very stylish. You have the opportunity to take a genuine swim and enjoy the view of Bangkok and the river - very beautiful!
Staff is helpful, towels free, the pool is big and cool - and there blows a cool breeze.
HOWEVER (while we were there) a large number of children destroyed the quiet atmosphere! Shouting, screams, throw ball etc.
If you have imagined yourself having a quiet afternoon by the poolside, reading a good book? Not possible!
Furthermore, there is not enough sunbeds and you should therefore get early to get (and the sun is not at the terrace before 1 o'clock).
Eating is quite expensive. A common lunch-meal costs 3-or 4-double of normal. And it is nothing special - very mediocre (and thrice I found hair in my rice). And the 'restaurants' nearby is not that exciting. The area is really not that good for anything - no real shopping or dining. It feels safe and clean though...
Overall: we would definitely come back (on sale)

I stayed at Chatrium for 3 nights and found this place to be magical. We upgraded to a riverside corner 1 bed suite and the views were magnificent. The staff is courtesies and service impeccable. There is a free shuttle ferry to the nearby BTS station and we found that there is certain charm in taking a ferry that cannot be matched by alternative modes of transport. We will most definitely stay here at our next visit. Thanks to all the staff at Chatrium for making our trip very memorable.

Room Tip: Riverside is worth it and so is upgrading to a suite

Very nice room great atmosphere next to chaopraya river . Staff are great but the food is little slow due to full room and thailand holiday songran festival. The swimming pool are very relaxing . There is star buck & seven eleven& spa plus beauty salon. I will stay here again.

When I walked into my suite and they pulled the curtain back I was just awed by the sight! It was breathtaking!
The river view was so fantastic! Floor to ceiling glass living room and bedroom.

Unbelievably gorgeous rooms and balcony to watch the river and city. Day or night it is breathtaking.

Staff were so helpful. If you were in the lobby area and you even looked like you might want to ask a question they were on you asking if you needed help.
Unbelievable service.

Buffet by the river in the morning was something we did not discover right away. We sat by the huge glass windows. So much good to say about this place. Any problem at all and they take care of it graciously.....where else do they do that. Also, they have a river ferry to the next big ferry terminal.
711 there and an ATM. AND FOR YOU STARBUCKS lovers, there is a Starbucks....

Room Tip: If you want a river view is breathtaking. City view equally beautiful.
