Bangkok Cha-Da Hotel

Accommodation was standard in our eyes. However, it is all you need for a place to lay your head at night. The rooms are clean and maintained well. The bed was comfortable. The staff are friendly. The breakfast was nice, and if you have an early tour, they will allow you to have an earlier breakfast. We stayed on the 9th floor and was quiet. There is a decent pool area on the roof, which is generally quiet so you can enjoy your time up there and scope out the views. Wifi for your room is not the cheapest, but go to the bar area near reception and it is free. The room we had didn't have a safety box in the room, and therefore had to use the one at reception. However, it was still very safe for your valuables as you get the only key. The hotel is nicely situated for the night life and night markets, but is a good train ride from places like Siam Square. But the MRT Station is just a few minutes walk up the road and is your cheapest form of transport.

Room Tip: Get a room on the higher floors as less noisy and better views

Entrance, staff dress (and smiles) makes you feel welcomed on arrival. 4star feeling with nice atmosphere.

Would recommend you book a room no lower than 10th floor if possible. Street is noisy so the higher the room the better. Max floor is 14, which also allows quicker access to the roof top pool (dont need to take the lift if you stay on the 14th).

Room was fair, big bed, hairdryer, kettle all available (call reception if you need anything, I found them very helpful). Beds are hard and pillows are solid shoeboxes, it reminded me of a sandbag used as a door stop. The shower was decent size for turning 360deg and not bumping stuff. The complementary soap came in 500ml dispensing bottles which are fixed to the shower wall, I did not like it as it broke the mood and the conditioner had a strange smell!!

Only ate the breakfast, it was nothing special but did have a lots of different buffet options. Eggs are way on the otherside, only realised on last day. You have to get you own coffee and refills which is a bit frustrating. Enjoyed it for what we payed.

I will conclude the following:
Not for the fussy tired travellers.
2night wonder hotel, any more and you might regret.
Ideal for budget business trip (if you send people, not if you stay).
It will be what you make of it.

I have stayed in worse places, although Cha-da is far from shops and attractions I enjoyed the train and taxi rides. Walked to a BIG shopping plaza that took about 10min walk had Mcdonalds and others restaurants so dont worry. Streets were safe to walk about, even at 11pm which made me very happy. I would recommend the hotel offer free Bangkok travel maps, I took one at airpoty (for free) that help me out tremendously!!

P.s. the views from 14th floor rooms are wonderful.. took a panoramic photo in the morning and night that came out great!

Neat hotel for the budget traveller. If you are fit you won't mind climbing the 42 steps from the 14th floor to get to the rooftop pool which is very refreshing and most of the time you will have it to yourself. No facilities once you are there though, just a couple of showers and some towels, wooden lounges for sunbathing. The "free" WIFi in the ground floor cafe is only available if you purchase a drink or food. Quite expensive - over AUD$3 for a cafe late in paper cup just to use the internet. Otherwise the hotel charges by the half hour for WIFI. Breakfast excellent with many choices. Couple of hundred metres to the Metro train. And in the other direction Big C shopping centre has a great food hall and reasonable shopping. Staff friendly. This hotel mostly caters for Asian travellers. We spent 4 nights here and the ratio was 95% Asian but the front counter staff and Manager do speak a little English. Our room was spacious with view of the surrounding area. Air con. was quiet and bed was comfortable. 7-11 shop nearby and plenty of local street food if you like to eat with the locals.

Room Tip: Looks like all the rooms are identical.

Hotel was initially chosen for value. Hotel is located on the MTR (a 10 min walk to station) and it's easy to connect to the sky train and see The city attractions cheaply and easily. We found the staff to be friendly and helpful. Yes the room was small and a little tired.. But only needed to use the room for sleeping! Only ate the included breakfast, which catered for all tastes and again was good value. Can't comment on surrounding eateries, but did use the 7-11 store

We stayed here for our first 2 nights in Bangkok. It cost us around 400 baht to get to the hotel from the international airport.

We arrived earlier then the check in time (around 10am) and they were more then happy to check us in and get us in to our room. We did have to sit and look through their day tour book whilst they 'checked the room' though. A small price to pay for an early check in!

The staff were incredibly friendly, and were happy to help.
You can buy wifi to use in your room, but the guy on reception told us if we go to the cafe in the hotel its free wifi - and it was very fast!! The cafe do the best smoothies too...only 90baht!

Rooms were basic but very clean. Massive beds and very clean bathroom. Free towels daily. Basically, the Cha Da is like a fancy travel lodge or premier in. There is a roof top pool with views over the city - most certainly a must in the evening.

Breakfast was a buffet, served from 6.30 - 9/10, and although we didn't get time to try it, it looked amazing and the croissant we quickly took away for our day out was delicious!

The only fault (if i can call it that!) with the hotel is the location. Although it is very close to the sky train etc, its too far out from shops and main attractions that bangkok has to offer.

For the money you pay, its not a bad little hotel at all.
