Pros
- Cheap, got it for a corporate rate of only USD 40 per night plus breakfast
- Breakfast buffet was pretty good, lots to choose from, and tastes pretty good, too
- Rooms are large, and clean for the given price

Cons
- Wifi signal in the fifth floor rooms was weak, you need to go to the lobby to get the best signal reception
- Lots of mosquitos in the lobby, especially at night.
- TV is still the non-LCD type, and the remote control did not work
- The "Business Center" consisted only of 2 desktop computers in the lobby. And the printer was not working when I was there.

Overall
- You really get what you pay for, makes you sometimes wish you were rich enough to afford the Swissotel just a couple of dozen meters away

I stayed at the Cha Da in Bangkok in January 2011. having never been to Thailand and being unfamiliar with Bangkok I wasn;t sure where the hotel was in comparison to the sights etc.

The hotel is on a busy road (and the driving is pretty crazy) so keep to the bridges to cross the road. There are a few nice shopping arcades a few minutes walk with lovely places to eat.

The hotel itsself was spotless and the staff were very friendly and keen to help and assist in any way. I satyed bed and breakfast. Im not much of a breakfast person and it was "really my kind of food" but there was a wide selection of foods available. I never ate in the restaurant.

The rooftop pool is definitely a huge bonus - after a long day doing the sights - to go for a relaxing swim is fab.

I would not recommend this hotel if you are interested in the pub/club scene as there is nothing around. It is still very much a Thai area which was nice. A nice night time market and close to the subway to get into the centre.

An excellent evening attraction is Siam Niramit which is less than 5 minutes away by taxi/tuk tuk (you could probably walk it) and I would highly recommend this.

Overall a very pleasant stay and I would stay here again.

You'd think that since this holiday was booked in April 2010 and we had just got off a 14 hour night flight that you room might be ready when you got to the hotel. Not the case here. We had to wait in reception for over 20 minutes while they found us a room and after we had reminded them that our booking required a superior room. Having got my winge out of the way I can now say that our 2 night here was very comfortable. This is not a plush 5 star riverside hotel in the city centre but a basic stopover hotel out of the city centre. The rooms are comfortable and the good buffet breakfast caters for all needs. After the initial glitch the reception staff were very helpful as were all the hotel staff. The nearest underground station is 5 mins walk away. A day ticket costs 120 baht. You used to have to buy seperate day tickets for the underground and skytrain but now one will do for both. We found out that it will pay dividends to do some indepth homework before travelling to Bangkok. If we had known what we do now when we arrived it would have been a totally different visit. The majority of locals in Bangkok don't speak english but when you ask tham a question they gve you the impression thay have undestood what you said. There are official looking people standing outside the major tourist attractions to tell you that it isn't open today for some reason and when you wander off his friend is waiting to offer to take you somewhere else. Don't listen. Go the attraction ticket office and ask there
