“A great change”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed May 23, 2014 via mobile

Very clean and comfortable rooms in particular the bed, had a great sleep. Had the elevator package so up high and no noise. Food in the restaurant was perfect. My beef steak was cooked to perfection and plenty of it. Sensational cheese cake to finish the dinner. Breakfast was done very well too. Can't really complain about the whole place. Back for sure.

One of my favorite places to stay in BKK for many years. I've always enjoyed both the hotel and the Louisiana cuisine, which is as authentic as it gets, and I should know. The new location in Ekamai is much fresher than the comfortable old Washington Square building that is now history. Service has always been top notch, and Doug is always ready to make sure that guests are well taken care of in the hotel, restaurant, and bar. Lots of TV channels including American sports.

Room Tip: The second building is less expensive but just as nice, if you don't mind stairs.

Good location, 400m from Ekkamai BTS. Bedroom was comfortable with decent bathroom, seated area and fridge. No kettle & inclusive B&B not included - I think they should be provided for a few more dollars per night. The separate bar area was interesting & characterful, expensive by Thai standards.

Great food fantastic Oysters, the meat is the best in bangkok, I had the mussels though, the sauce was terrible, service good but then there is a 10% service charge, how can a place chafe for service, that should be up to the customer

Stayed In the secondary building without a lift which was fine for us. Impressed by large, comfortable room which had a sofa. The shower over the bath was badly designed as it leaked all over the bathroom in which there was no floor drain. Towels were changed daily which was unnecessary for our 4 night stay. Despite their own leaflets stating that breakfast was free, you had to pay extra for it at the time of booking and it wasn't that great ("fresh local fruit juice" was definitely from a carton). The staff were mostly unsmiling which was disappointing as the hotel website promised a friendly welcome and more personal service. For this price, I would also expect tea/coffee making facilities but none provided. However, the room was a good place to relax and the hotel was very near Ekkamai sky train so it was a comfortable, convenient place to stay.

I stayed at Bourbon Street while on business. And I would gladly stay here every time I go to Bangkok! Its an American hotel with a Thai heart! Douglas, the owner is there every day ensuring his guests are well looked after and is an absolute star! The rooms are very very comfortable - nothing posh - but comfortable nevertheless. And if you need something, the staff will help you with it.
The day starts with a hearty breakfast and as a tourist or traveller, gives you the flavours and aromas you are familiar with, helping you start the day on a right note. The overall ambience of the hotel is friendly and there is always a buzz about the place. The evenings are nearly packed and the food on offer is absolutely divine - good ol' american hearty food! The bar is well stocked and they have a fantastic selection of cocktails and beers. And everything is reasonable priced - just like the rest of Bangkok!
Bourbon Street is close to the skytrain station (literally a 7 min walk) and is located on the busy Soi 63 which is in walking distance from the 'happening' Thonglor! Plus there are plenty of 'street food' options (especially Soi 28) and other restaurants in close proximity!
So net net - a lovely place to camp while in Bangkok and last but not the least - Bourbon Street has the best Long Island Iced Tea in town! Without a doubt!

Room Tip: The 5th & 4th floor rooms are good as they are quieter. It can get quite noisy on the 6th floor...

We booked here following a deal on a website. The location was great, very close to the BTS station, making the city quite accessible from a quiet location.
Food was nice albeit pricey, staff were quite friendly but the place lacked atmosphere. Security guards were really helpful in helping us get taxis and telling prices of how much tuk this, taxis etc should cost.

Rooms were nice, spacious and the bed was awesome!
