We booked a one bedroom executive suite for 2 weeks over Christmas, which had a living room and open plan kitchen.

Absolutely fantastic size apartment with all the facilities you would want:

2 flatscreen TVs, a fully equipped kitchen, washing machine and dryer and lovely bathroom.

One of the most comfy beds we have had and with daily housekeeping, a real joy to stay in.

The pool was very cold on the first few days we were there so to enter it was quite 'challenging' but it soon warmed up (or maybe we got used to it!), and it was a lovely place to spend an afternoon.

It's not a huge pool area, but even at Christmas (which we imagine was full capacity), there was only a couple of hours one late morning where there were no loungers free - the rest of the time there was no problem and as others have said, no issues with people 'reserving' beds.

We used room service on a couple of occasions which was great both times, and the pool bar was also fantastic - not the cheapest but when you have it served to your sun lounger, we were quite happy to pay a little extra.

We cannot say enough good things about the staff - they were absolutely superb, across all areas of the hotel. We moved rooms when we arrived as the hotel is in a fairly built up area and there was another (Fraser Suites next-door) tower block obscuring our view of the skyline, and the reception staff were utterly gracious and efficient in accommodating our wishes.

The hotel is located in the embassies district of Bangkok which on the one hand gives you good quality pavements (for example),and a quiet area to stay in, but on the other be advised it is a good 15 minute walk to the nearest tube station and a good 25 minutes to Silom for restaurants etc. Not a big deal but if you want to be right in the heart of everything, perhaps Sukhumvit would be a better place to stay.

The hotel is on a side street off the main road and therefore you have to negotiate a 4 lane road every time you want to walk anywhere (25 minutes to Silom, 35 minutes to Siam), which after 2 weeks stay was a bit of a pain, but it wouldn't have changed our decision - everything else within the hotel made up for it.

We couldn't fault our stay to be honest - we would thoroughly recommend this hotel to anyone.

Room Tip: We were on 28th floor and were not bothered by any street noise

When i arrived i wasn't very impressed with this place - it seemed like a standard hotel without much character or charm - and you wouldn't know u were in Thailand. The lift broke, the pool was a scary green colour etc
But actually after staying for a night or two I really grew to like it. The staff at the front desk were incredibly helpful and friendly. The amenities in the room including the washing machine and the kitchen were very useful. I could always get a bed at the pool when i wanted it. The breakfast was pretty good.
Its a typical US chain hotel - but it works.
If your staying here try a massage place close by called ruen nuad. Its great.

Room Tip: Don't get a room on the south side - they look into another building

I wanted to land at a good hotel for my first couple of days in Bangkok. This was perfect. Not fancy but, spacious, clean and perfect with washing machine and dryer.
Expedia screwed up and didn't include breakfast with our stay - which is what our booking was supposed to include. Breakfast buffet was expensive - $15 per person.
Location is good, albeit loud.
For the price of the room, free wi-fi should be included in the room instead of just on the main floor. Even the tiny places I've stayed in outside of main cities in Thailand offer free wi-fi with breakfast for a third of the price. Pretty cheap of Marriott.
But,if you don't need internet and don't care if your wake-up call is actually at the right time, these are really great rooms.

We liked to stay here - great service for very reasonable price. Staff is very helpfull - they do everything to make your stay pleasant. We stayed at 2 bedrooms apartment and it has everything you need - 2 bathrooms, hall, washing machine, drying machine, dishwashing machine, kitchen with dishes. Staff even washed our dishes! Nice view from hight floors. Only thing I dont like is paid WIFI - about $50 for 1 week. The hotel is about 10 mins walking to nearest skytrain station - Sala Daeng.

Room Tip: Ask for high floor for great view

After a few check-in snags caused by typical Marriot head office penny-pinching policies, we spent an amazingly pleasant 15 nights at the Marriot Sathorn Vista.

First, apartments are extremely well-equipped with both washer and dryer, a real plus if you have ever tried to operate a combo, Rooms are spacious, shiny and new. Two large flat screen TVs. Housekeeping is in a word perfect. We were on the 24th floor and faced Sathorn but didn"t hear any street noise. Actually, the level of cleanliness is extremely high in ALL areas of the hotel. Looks brand new.

Despite some comments. Complimentary Internet is available on the ground floor. Just ask the front desk staff for a password. There are 2 computers and we found them more than adequate for our needs.

The pool area is meticulously maintained, as are the locker rooms and sauna. The gym has about 13 pieces of high quality equipment and although not as big as Ascott was certainly able to allow us a full workout. I second the other gentleman's suggestion. I hit my head on the TV too. We were there during the holidays and we never once had a problem getting a pool lounge. Not one guest pulled the towel and book trick then show up 4 hours later which we have experienced at every other hotel in Bangkok from the Ascott to the Mandarin Oriental.

Serviced apartments are not famous for food but Momo and poolside were excellent. Prices were usually in the 200-300 baht range and we actually often over-orderred as servings were large. Ingedients were fresh and always presentation was just a bit different than usual. The Thai food whether it was duck curry, pad thai, the spicy Thai beef with basil etc. etc. were all authentically prepared. Well done.

The best thing is that it is opposite Convent Street. Five minutes to the BTS. On Convent Street try Beccofino for its 400 baht buffet lunch or Naj, pricey but excellent Thai food. I can also personally vouch for the Kerstase hair salon next to Beccofino and further down the block at Silom our old favorite, the family restaurant style Le Bua with great Thai dishes and a picture menu.

Lastly the staffmembers. I am extremely high maintainence, the staff handled me with grace and professionalism. Finally, the manager was always present, even chatting and helping in the diningroom one morning. This impressed me greatly.

We reserved in March and paid in advance and got a great rate. So great property, great staff, lots of good food if you decide you want to stay in and a wonderful relaxing pool and gym. A perfect holiday!!!

After a week of being in a hotel, it was a nice change to have twice as much space (for less money). A kitchen to cook, a living room, and a bathroom big enough for two. Bedroom was big, lots of storage and a safe. Bed was very comfy. Daily service to clean everything. Everything still nice and new, big screen TV with decent channel selection. Washing machine had some issues, but we made it work. We were on the 21st floor so we didn't hear any noise or traffic. Breakfast buffet was included - standard fair (coffee not so good). Most of the hotel service people were friendly and helpful (though a little stingy on the bottled water). I'd still rather stay here than any hotel in the city though because it's just more comfortable. Location is pretty good too, good restaurants within walking distance, BTS only 10 min away.
