It's a beautiful place to stay.
The staff is very kind especially Ms. Nan who is a wonderful women. She is a reception manager.

Ms.Nan helped us find the best Indian restaurants, places to visit, assisted us in getting taxis and also cautioned about the ptotest places to avoid.

Thanks Ms.NAN and thanks BU Place staff!!.
We will visit again.

I strongly recommend this hotel

This was our first time to Asia and we just needed a hotel for the night before we flew to Chiang Mai. Found this hotel on the internet and it seemed to be 1/2 way point between Bangkok airport and Don Muang airport and it was a very reasonable price for 4 adults (approx. $80.00 USD for the Royal Suite). We booked the Royal Suite with two bedrooms and please realize this is a budget hotel so don't expect grand luxury. The pictures were a little misleading, the room was clean but not as contemporary as the pictures on the website seem to be at least for our suite.

This hotel seemed to be a little off the beaten pathway but our cab driver just asked a local for exact locations when we got in the vicinity and he had no problems. When we checked in the staff didn't really speak English very we'll but we were able to understand them enough to get everything done that was needed. They even booked us a taxi at 6am for our departure which was a great help since we wouldn't of known how to get a cab since they aren't just sitting out front like many other hotels.

From previous reviews on tripadvisor I was leery of the check-in process and was worried about any monetary hassles. I don't believe they say it on the website but they do request in cash, $2,500 baht up front for a room deposit. We only stayed for one night and at checkout they had a man go look at our room and after he okayed that our room was not damaged they returned the deposit in full. So luckily for us it was not any major deal, just know to have the baht on hand as they do not accept credit cards for the deposit.

As for the room itself it was clean and modest. It was not luxurious by any means and it did have a small kitchenette. It was a very basic suite with two bathrooms and two bedrooms with a living room. The AC worked great and cooled the room down quickly. The bathrooms seemed a little run down and after two of us took showers there wasn't any hot water left for the other two companions. We were on the 18th floor and had a view to what I'm assuming might of been downtown Bangkok. To get to our rooms we took a small elevator and the hallway of the hotel reminded me of a school dorm. They have free internet but it is only assigned to one user per room. We had to buy more access connections but they were only $3.00 USD per person so compared to what many US chain hotels charge this was a bargain.

I'd stay here again if it was for a short period of time or I really needed to watch my budget. It was a great value for 4 people who just needed some shut eye before heading off to the airport.

My husband and I stayed here for 4D3N in September. It is a very clean place with basic amenities. The staff are also very helpful. There is a lot of street food available right outside the hotel the whole day long, and many convenience stores. The only downside is that it's a bit far from the nearest MRT (phra ram 9) station and you can't walk there and back, so everytime you'd need to take a taxi or a tuk tuk. Be careful with the tuk tuks as they can charge exorbitantly and the same goes for taxis too, as it's a short distance to drive. The hotel shuttle bus is ok to take from the hotel but coming back is a bit of a problem as the timings are fixed and start rather late in the weekends.. The breakfast spread could also be better, I'd suggest eating right outside as the food stalls along the road are amazing for authentic Thai food, and they are quite a hit with the locals as well.

A. I had to pay for requesting extra blanket for my son, this is not indicated clearly in the web.

B. I was given a room with a bed that is spoilt in the spring and the metal protruded out and caused pain for my spine, I requested the staff to look at it and change for me after my outings, but it was not done, I was so pissed off and the poor maintenance man had to carry the bed sheet alone, and knowing that, I told them to abort replacing the mattress and use a towel to cover that part where the spring metal came off.

C. As I did not have the rooms cleaned everyday n on my last day over there, my kids went swimming and the pool did not provide towels, when i brought e kids back for shower and requested for dry clean towels, and to my horror, I was told that I had to pay in order to get a fresh new towel, I was so angry as it is ridiculous cos I am not having extra guest with me but the kids need a dry towel after showering, I was so angry and requested to speak to the manager, the manager came late as he said he was having lunch when I called, despite that, he said he allowed this time for me to change the dry towels with the wet towels. He even mentioned that dun let this spoilt my holiday mood and I agree totally with him as he really empathize with me.

D. Air con was spoilt, so they sent a technician n was not fixed for an hr! I had to bear with the stuffiness while packing my luggage on my last night, they are still unwilling to change a room for me till the technician confirmed dat e air con needs professional repair, to think their technician can't repair n they do not have a real air con serviceman in the hotel!

Despite all e above unhappy incidents, I would still like to return to BU place due to the cleanliness and the food street there, but. Was rejected after I made a booking.

To me, Thailand is a great country with humble people, but this rejection from the hotel had given me a very bad impression that this hotel is trying to avoid guests like me who face so many problems during my stay n this is frustrating that they even told me do not waste time on their hotel and sound as tho I created havoc during my stay. Ridiculous! I even recommend my friends to stay there!

Very disappointing that in Thailand, we can't complain or else we will get blacklisted in the hotel.

The management in the hotel is not consistent in giving replies to customers before arrival and now they are even rejecting guests who make complains!

At the beginning everything seemed fine... right from emailing the hotel and being dealt with in an effective, swift and friendly manner. We reserved 2 bedrooms suites for 2 families (1 of 4 and the other of 5) for 4 nights.

Upon arrival, which was 12.30am due to late arriving plane, check-in was smooth until the request for a BHT5000 deposit which was not explained prior when making the reservation. Not a problem... we got out our credit cards and asked for this to be charged on there. We were told it had to be in cash as they didnt have facilities to give refunds. We apologised and refused as we wasnt aware of this and didnt have that cash with us. After some discussion, it was agreed that we'd pay it in the next day which we did.

Soon after paying the deposit, ie the very next day, reception started to come up with things with which we would be charged for. The other family had a glass bottle broken (by accident) which they had to pay BHT20 (as the note in the room stated we must do if this happened)... this wasnt a problem as the money was left on the table to cover this damage. However, the cleaners pocketed the money and did not inform reception.

Reception, then found it necessary to embarrass us in the lobby by bringing out towels that had been used and telling us that we would have to pay BHT200 for cleaning!!! WHAT THE HELL??? We have to pay for towels to be cleaned??? I thought this was part of your service as a serviced apartment!!! Their argument was that they would have to send it to a specialist for cleaning!!! When examining the towels the only stains on them was usual stains from drying after a swim and using the gym.

At this point, which happened to be our last night there, we complained and asked to speak to a manager. All of a sudden, there's no manager available and no was available to assist. The customer/ staff relationship went from being jovial on check in to almost frosty, from them to us.

The suite that my friends family was in was crawling with ants and bathroom in a bad state. However, they didnt complain or make a fuss, just bought some repellent and sprayed the room down.

The furniture in both suites were somewhat dated and I would suggest needing replacing.

The bed mattress was a hard as concrete.... I'm used to firm Thai beds but this was something else... akin to sleeping on the floor.

Location was tucked away on a small side street... The closest station is about 15 mins away. They'll get taxis or tux tuxs to get you there... cost at about BHT40.

The internet is included free only for the 1st night for 1 machine (something they failed again to state... I was told free WIFI was available). After 1st night its BHT100 for 24hrs.

The CHECKOUT (aug 13th 2013)
We had to checkout at 4.30am as we had to catch a train to Cambodia. We advised them of this the night before and stated that we'd want our full deposit back and didnt want there to be any delays. The reception staff said that after checking the rooms they'll see what happens.

Our rooms we're left in a better state that when we found them so there was no complains or arguments there... Just the broken bottle and dirty towels! The staff tried to drag the issue out with the manta that the manager needed to authorise a refund and that couldnt happen until 9am... To which we just demand our money so we could catch our train. After 20 mins of arguing they relented and gave us back our money.

On leaving we said to them 'you do know that Tripadvisor is a useful tool in highlight our experiences (good and bad)' and to my shocked was told that they didnt care and we could do/ write what we wished!!!

I've been to Bangkok 7 times over the last 5 years and stayed in a number of places... I can say without any doubt... the customer service in this place was the worst.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here... dont give a deposit or you'll never see it again!!! Or be prepared t...

I stayed with my family ( 3 children 2 adults in a 2 bed apartment) at BU place for 4 nights, leaving yesterday after a terrible experience.
Upon arrival with tired children we were informed that we needed to leave a cash deposit of 5000 baht, which we had not been informed about in any of our correspondences. They stated that it could only be cash and unfortunately this is where the difficulties began. We were also informed that the wifi worked on a token system whereby only one device could have access per day.
The rooms initially appeared clean, however the showers and water had problems (only boiling hot or cold or not working at all).
We were asked to pay extra for towels to be washed and bedding to be changed and reception staff harassed us at every oppurtunity to pay for a broken water bottle even though we had paid the fee on the same day and at the time time the breakage happened.
Ants infested the apartment in the kitchen cupboards and bathroom meaning that we had to throw away food and toiletries.
BU place is also very tucked away and taxi drivers find it incredibly hard to find which caused immense difficulty even after we had the address written in Thai.
Upon trying to book out of the apartment it was very difficult to obtain our deposit back which was again frustrating and demoralising as much of the harassment took place in the lobby in front of other guests. It became very clear that they wanted to make deductions where there was no need. The room was checked and they could not fault the condition in which we left the apartment upon our departure.
We had hoped to stay at the accommodation again after traveling around the neighbouring towns and counties but due to the way we have been treated we will be making alternative arrangements and staying as far away from BU place as possible.

Room Tip: The cost of the room is not the only fee you will be paying throughout your stay. Look around for tr...
