A beautiful haven of tranquility and peace in frenetic Bangkok. A beautifully designed bedroom. We were welcomed with a dish a delicious fresh fruit and plenty of orchid flowers. The room was very comfortable and a/c was an essential extra. Although our room was near the Klong (the local canal) we soon got used the whoosh of boats as the sped up and down.
After a hectic day out and about in Bangkok it was lovely to have a swim and relax by the pool.
David, the owner, was very discreet but always around to make sure that your stay was perfect.
We arrived late on our first night, and too tired after a long journey to choose our food, David suggested a light meal which was delicious. We had a great meal out on the terrace just before leaving on a late flight. The food was exquisite, and sitting outside surrounded by flickering candles made for a very memorable last night.

We stayed here for 2 nights when in and out of Bangkok. Apart from it being beautiful, serene and a lovely calm oasis, nothing is to much trouble, the staff are wonderful. the bed is amazing, and the bath is HUGE! The first time in 3 years we've been able to have a bath together as my boyfriend is 6ft 2 and I'm 5ft 8! They bought us some candles for the bathroom too, so we could have a nice bath. Can't rate this highly enough. Lovely pool, lovely breakfast, everything you want is catered for with a smile that feels genuine and friendly. Staff who really go out of their way to make your stay special will absolutely be going back when we visit Bangkok next .

When booking a three-night stopover in Bangkok (our first visit there) we initially looked at the usual chain hotels and then, through Trip Advisor, found this place and thought.... people seem to like it, let’s give it a go.

The most striking thing about the place is, as others say, how it can seem so tranquil in such a busy city. It is at the end of what seems to be essentially a street with no-way-through (probably helpful) which is also the location of one of the city’s main hospitals which is particularly popular with tourists looking for a cheap nip-tuck operation! More relevantly, it's also only 10 minutes' walk from a Sky Train stop which it makes it well-placed for visiting the city's sights.

If you look at their website you’ll see Ariyasomvilla is a family outfit and it really has that feel. We saw the owner at every breakfast and evening meal checking on how the guests were doing and you feel that everyone there has a personal interest in making sure your stay is very pleasant and relaxing.

The hotel offered us a pick-up from the airport. As it was our first visit to Bangkok and it was at the end of a long flight, it suited us although, at Bt 1589, it is considerably more than the standard taxi fare (at the hotel’s suggestion we took a taxi back and the Bt 500 we offered seemed to delight the driver). Mind you, the pick-up did mean we arrived at the hotel in an air-conditioned limousine!

We’d booked one of the three-night packages advertised on the website and thought it represented good value. On arrival, we found that we’d been upgraded to an Executive Deluxe Room (211) which had a balcony overlooking the pool and patio area: it was great. Beautifully decorated, with a four poster bed in a VERY sizeable bedroom, a great bathroom (twin sinks, walk-in shower, big bath) and a smaller separate sitting room. All immaculately clean.

The package included an evening set-meal at the hotel’s restaurant. We thought the food was really tasty but perhaps the fact that there were Thai people dining there too was an even better comment on the quality of the food.

A Thai massage was also included in the price. This was the first I’d ever had and at the end of it, I have to say, I felt well pummelled!!. We left it until the day we were flying back to the UK and, although it was good, some bits of me still ached two days later!

Bangkok is a great visit and we’re planning a re-visit when we’ll aim to stay at Ariyasomvilla again. So, in line with most other reviewers: this place is great and strongly recommended.

Just returned from a second visit to Ariyasom Villa. Just as good as in 2011, would not hesitate to recommend this hotel to the more discerning traveller - lovers of 100°/° A/C please avoid. The owner, David is omni-present with advice and tips to make your stay more enjoyable. The restaurant is very good - but you should beware it is vegetarian, although there is fish on the menu. A very good massage in the pagoda overlooking the pool and all the staff efficient and polite. The rooms are beautiful and roomy and the bathrooms to die for! The room with the mezzanine floor is magnificient. It feels like staying in someone's house. Not to be missed!

We stayed at Ariyasomvilla twice during our three week honeymoon in Asia. The room we were allocated on our second stay was unfortunately not to the standard we had experienced on our first stay in the hotel and so the hotel staff upgraded us to a beautiful suite with two levels, two lounges, wonderful bathroom – a great room to end our honeymoon in.

The hotel is around a ten minute walk to the Skytrain and located at the end of Soi 1 right next to the canal and is an oasis in the middle of a noisy, bustling, fast paced Bangkok.

As we had done all our sightseeing in Bangkok at the beginning of the honeymoon, the three days spent at Ariyasomvilla were spent relaxing by the pool which is set within the beautiful garden area. As many people spend their time sightseeing in Bangkok we often had the pool to ourselves which was just as well as there are only a small number of sun beds.

I took advantage of the lovely spa set above the pool area for a relaxing leg massage on our final day which was well needed after 3 weeks of sightseeing.

Would definitely stay here on return to Bangkok.
