we went to route 66 and arrived at around 10past so we managed to get a table outdoors complete with 4 cushioned chairs.. the place starts to fill up from there and by 11ish the whole outdoor standing area is packed as well.. there is a 300baht cover charge for foreigners, which you can redeem for drinks.. a bottled beer costs around 160baht.. shots are 200baht each with/without mixer.. a henessy bottle costs as low as $1700+baht but mixers (incl. water) are about 60baht each
route 66 seemed to be the most happening club on that stretch, and it played good music! even people outside were just dancing at their tables and having fun..
lots of tourists and foreigners.. we encountered a group of westerners who keep asking the waiter to chase us off from our table for them, saying that we didn't even order a bottle (we got there earlier and had quite a few bottles of beer and shots and cocktails and hey we still spent as much as the price of a bottle >=( rude pricks ), but! the waiter refused to give in to them and said he couldn't chase us away. so yes, there are actually nice waiters and service there no doubt..
later we shared the table with 2 ncie french guys and partied and drank together for a bit, and offered a chair to some girls at the standing table next to us.. hey all's well if you just be nice and not act like a rich spoilt superior brat ey?
tip: go early before 10pm if you want to grab a good seat.. music is great, didn't see any fights or rowdiness, female toilet queue gets longer as it gets later, no smoking inside the club though music is equally loud outside..
we went as a couple and still had lots of fun and made new friends! (and we're above 25 :P)
