“Nice, clean and comfortable!”
Reviewed February 12, 2011

This hotel is located near the end of an alley. You can either walk from the main road or take a taxi or Tuk-Tuk to reach it. Lots of vendors on the side from early morning to late at night. We felt at ease walking back from night out on the city. Lots of people at 2 AM still! The hotel rooms are quite small to ones I've been to, but they are clean, simple and quiet. Staff was great! I needed an adapter for my cellphone to charge and within 3 mins a staff was there at the door! They really try their best to make your stay as hassle free as possible. Front desk staff is knowledgeable about places to visit in Bangkok. If you want to take escorted tours of the sites in Thailand, there is a tour desk located inside the lobby. Tried them, no hassle, all arrangements made perfect. Hydrate always when you're on tour in Bangkok or Thailand for that matter as it has a tropical and humid weather. Will definitely go back again! Oh did we mention the shopping? Bang for your buck! Be sure to haggle to the lowest price and work up! Have fun!

Stayed in this area to do shopping in Pratunam. The location is a bit tricky to get to, as it is tucked into a sidestreet, but the value more than made up for it. At approximatley $40 US a night, it's a steal for central Bangkok. You're given a room with the necessary amenities (soaps, shampoo, etc.) and complimentary tea and coffee and water. The room comes with a flatscreen TV outfitted with a good number of channels, free wifi, access to a fairly decent sized gym (for a boutique hotel), clean and comfortable sheets, as well as hot water and air conditioning. Ultimatley, a great value, as the rooms are very clean and the furniture new.

The Hotel is at the end of this little ally way which doesn't look like a car can fit on the road and no cab/tuk tuk driver seems to know where it is, but besides that the location was pretty good if you're into cheap shopping and street food carts. The food carts are everywhere in the maze of ally ways on the way out to the main road. It was a quick walk away from Platinum clothing mall, which is good if you are the free-size (aus 8/10) and the I.T mall. The hotel spa was opened until midnight so it was good to get a massage at night after a long day of shopping and walking.

My sister and I went to Bangkok over the weekend (Jan 22 to 24) and we stayed at Citin Pratunam Hotel. For the price we paid, we were satisfied with what we got.

Bedroom – room size just right for 2 people – our twin beds are very clean. The room is equipped with a flat screen tv (no much channel to choose from – only found 1 english channel), hair dryer, mini refrigerator, small safe, kettle , coffee and tea, 2 complimentary drinks per day, cupboard with hanger and 2 pair sandals. Security is good; you only can access the hotel lift with your room access cards.

Bathroom – clean except the cupboard below the sink got white stains which look like it has been there for long time and never be clean up (but it doesn’t really bother me). Shampoo, Body wash, soaps, shower cap, cotton bud & toilet paper were replenished every day (make sure you press the ‘make up room’ button before you leave your room). Towel a bit old but clean, there were no tooth brush, but you can buy one from ‘Family Mart’ (if I am not wrong this shop open 24 hrs) just next to our hotel. We also bought a 6 liter drinking water from Family Mart only THB44 ^_^

Internet – Free internet at the check in lobby… , Free Tuk tuk service from 8am till 8pm but we never use it, depart every 30min.

Staff – friendly and helpful. They even offer to walk us to the airport link (Ratchaprarop station) with our two big luggage bag when we check out. (Taxi from hotel to airport around THB400 – 500 depend on traffic, airport link is only THB40 from Ratchaprarop to Suvarnabhumi airport - about 30minutes journey)

Location – walking distance to the airport link (10-15min without luggage OR 5 minutes short cut but I personally don’t feel safe for ladies to take the short cut unless you are with a group of friends. I prefer the main road). Near Indra Square (3 min), Baiyoke Sky Hotel (5 min), Pratunam wholesales Market (5 minutes), Platinum Fashion Mall (10min). Lots of food stalls from early morning till late night. Good for people who go there for shopping, night market just few step away from the Hotel….. if want to go weekend market (Chatuchak/JJ market) take airport link from Ratchaprarop station to Phaya Thai (THB15/pax) then walk to sky train station from Phaya Thai to Mo chit (THB30/pax). We took tuk tuk from hotel to MBK it cost us THB100, I did not bargain with the driver, heard you can bargain it should be around THB50-THB80. We do print out the hotel address in Thai, when we first arrived at the Ratchaprarop station we ask around for the direction and the local are willing to help otherwise I think I may not find the hotel, it took us about 20 minutes hahahahaaa... (Hotel is at the center of city, I suggest you ask for Indra Square first, then from Indra Square ask the local where is Citin Pratunam and show them your hotel address, it locate at a narrow street with lots of food stalls – very crowded market but you will find it don’t worry)

Food – we book the hotel without breakfast, so no comment on the hotel food – heard is good. There are few restaurants near the hotel and lots of food stalls. We actually tried the food from food stalls - pork porridge (THB20) and ‘dimsam’ (7piece for THB20) for our breakfast, they are good. We also have BBQ chicken wing (THB5), BBQ pork (THB10), BBQ fish (THB70) and local mandarin juice (THB20 small bottle) for our supper every night.. yummy… we love it.
Massage – please make reservation early, we didn’t manage to try their massage service – fully book on that day, price is reasonable - about THB200 for 1 hr foot massage, THB 300 for 1 hour Thai massage and THB400 for 1 hour oil massage (cannot really remember the price)
Hotel check-in and check-out were fast. We check in at 2:30pm it took him less than 5 min to photocopy our passport then get the bell boy to send our luggage to our room. Check out is fast is less than a minutes and easy – good job Citin!!!

Overall, we are very satisfied with Citin Pratunam and will consider going back to stay here again. Highly recommend for those who go Bangkok for shopping.

This was my first trip to Asia. When I arrived with the taxi from the airport I just felt Bangkok right away .(it's not easy to find the hotel beause of the narrow streets and pedestrians. You might have to walk from some point). The surroundings of the hotel becomes a big market every evening, with plenty of foodstands. It's very cheap, at first glance you might afraid of hygiene ( of European standards), but be brave!! On my 3rd day I knew each seller, they are on the same spot every night. They wouldn't if they sell spoiled food, I assume...
The hotel is nice and clean with 2 separate buildings. There is one with the reception desk and just across the other where they serve the breakfast. I am not vegetarian, but I had one of the best breakfasts ever, with wide selection of meatless food. I really recommend it!!! On the top floor of the building there is a thai massage place, it's a must after a hard they of city walking. Free internet, great staff!!!!

We were told at the airport that the hotel was walking distance from the station and we wouldnt need to take a cab. Surprisingly no one had heard about it and we kept walking in circles in what must be one of the most crowded areas of Bangkok. I would suggest ask people for the Indra hotel..that is a better landmark, and this one is just 3 minutes from there. We finally found it after half an hour.
Initially we were given a different room from the one we had ordered 4 months .After my husband insisted, they changed the room.
Only when we arrived there and saw a whole lot of Indians in the foyer we realised that this place is run by a Sikh gentleman and caters quite regularly to the Indian community. Hence the Indian vegetarian breakfast which broke my hubby's heart after the sumptuous non-veg meals in KL. However, the food wasn't too bad...though they were very stringent about shutting the buffet at 10 sharp and turning away guests.
The hotel being right in the middle of the market, is a shopper's delight, if you like street side shopping and just a short walk away, are all the malls. A must visit are the wholesale malls...buy 3 and get it much cheaper.
A tuk tuk arranged by the hotel drops you at a certain point and you can walk from there.
The tourist guide who sits in the lobby of the hotel...Sam, I think his name was..is very helpful and fluent in English. He arranged for our tkts to Siam Niramit and a cab too to take us there. We found the tickets much cheaper through him than at the venue.
The boy at the door of the main hotel (there are 2 of them a few mts apart) was very sweet.,...I cannot remember his name..Yong, I think. He was always helpful and courteous with a big smile on his face. The guy who drives the tuk tuk carried our luggage to the nearest train station and we took a train from there to the airport. It was all so easy and comfortable.
Dont look for any great views or luxury...but otherwise this place is a safe and comfortable place to stay.
We saw people from all around the world as guests at the hotel. I suppose what appeals to folks is that it is comfortable and hospitable, without the frills...and therefore cheap.
