“Location is the winner!!”
Reviewed April 30, 2014

Hotel is a walk from Asok-BTS station and the MRT-Sukhumvit station. That's what i like. Not walking too far from the station. Terminal 21 (shopping centre) is nearby and Soi Cowboy is across the street. However because this hotel is in an alley, so you might miss it when you are finding it. Do look carefully for the building.

Room wise was clean and spacious, enough room for 2 person. Bedding was good. Cable Tv was mainly thai with few english channels. However the toilet was not up to standard. Wall Soap/Shampoo was broken, and it was mouldly at the edges of the bathtub. Could do a fix/clean up to make it better. I was staying in room 203.

Internet was fast on the first day of stay, and gradually slower after day 2 and 3. Probably due to more guests?

Chosed a room without windows, as it was slightly cheaper, and there isn't much view to see in the first place, and for sure there will not be any street sounds at night, however the room would be near the elevator, but it is not much a factor. Each floor has 5 rooms, 2 facing the front, 2 facing the back and 1 which is near the elevator (room 203, 303, etc)

Overall a good place to stay because of the price, location and the staff are friendly too.
Did i mention that i extended my stay too!!

Room Tip: Window-less room is cheaper and you do not need to worry of any street level noise, there isn't...

Stayed two evenings. There is something "cool" about the hotel. Just based on the price, room and location is was worth the $40 per night (tax included). Near Soi Cowboy. Nearby cafes, 7-11, ect.

Very quite side street off Soi 18 and Sukhumviet Road. Quite @ night.

The room was comfortable. Bed, AC, internet fine.

Really, if the owners put some time and recourses into updating or just cleaning repairing the building, it would go a long way. The hallway rugs, the ceilings in the room, the lobby (it is dark-light it up, very nice looing boutique hotel). The pool is closed. Before it was like a large Jacuzzi. Why not fix it?

Based on price, location and a bit cozy: Worth $40 a night in BKK.

Room Tip: Room(s) facing the front street have a nice window and view. I think it was only $5 more per night.

Bad customer service . The hotel is managed by French . Hate their attitude so much . Not friendly at all . Even we greet them when we go out from hotel but they seem like never bother us . The lobby is dark. Swimming pool not longer available and closed . We stay here for almost a week . We can't feel the warm welcome from the owner .

Fantastic hotel! Super clean and excellent location right near Terminal 21 and the metro. My only complaint is that it was full when we tried to extend another 2 nights! Our fault obviously and we won't make that mistake again. This is by far the best hotel we've stayed in for this price range. The staff was friendly, the rooms and bathroom were very clean and modern. We will definitely choose the Darjelling for any future trips to Bangkok.

In this hotel I have spent 4 nights and I cannot complain about anything. Cozy rooms, high-speed internet (everywhere else I have tried internet was really slow comparing to this one), reasonable price and the best location - next to it metro, sky train, shopping malls, the main crossroad, thus you can reach every point of Bangkok easily from this hotel.

Staff is helpful - they have helped me with maps, choosing what to do in Bangkok and what to see. They even provided me with information about the islands which afterwards I have visited.

To sum up, I have got cozy rooms and have got even more than I could get for that price. And there is no need to have a luxury hotel to enjoy your staying in Bangkok.

Stayed there for 2 weeks in mid November 2013. Completely satisfied with what I got for what I paid. Great place to stay, as it is located just next to Asoke station and is literally in the middle of Bangkok nightlife. Having said that it's quiet enough inside the hotel to get yourself a good sleep on a good bed. Friendly and helpful staff with the directions and all that. They're also offering biking tours, which for me was one of the best experiences in Bangkok. Excellent. Will definitely book with them the next time I'm in Bangkok.

Room Tip: Only seen two rooms, both on the second floor, both got windows. which suits me well, can't tel...

1. An on-demand hot water heater in the bathroom. The system they have is the older style, centrally sourced, and it seemed the hot water heater was just not up to the task. Taking a shower was always an adventure. Sometimes scalding, most of the times no hot water at all. Some people prefer cold water showers and if you're one of them, this is the place for you.
2. An upgrade to their wifi. I was on the 2nd floor so you would think the signal would be strong there. Wrong. Every few minutes the signal would drop out, aborting any downloads and killing my VPN hookup. Very frustrating. If wifi is unimportant then again, same as above. They really need either a stronger router or a service package with bigger bandwidth,

I do want to say some positives. The staff at the front desk were friendly and accommodating. The price was great for this part of town - just minutes from the BTS. The room I had (with a window) was very bright and comfy.

If they'd just work on those 2 things they'd have a great little place on their hands.

One more thing. The bathroom mirror really needs more light. Grooming in shadow is not good for the complexion.

Room Tip: Ask for a room with a window. I peeked in one that did not and it looked a bit gloomy in there.
